My buddy for the day is the one and only Jane St. Clair. She has helped me design decals, edit photos, watch TV, make some soup - I don't know how I would get through my day without all of her help.

If you are wondering why I didn't post this Jane Birkin photo 12 years ago, I can only tell you there were many photos posted with a review written by someone else (link is unfortunately dead, though).
Also, when I first joined Flickr, I tended to put up sets of bands all at once and I just found that people would rather look at the cell phone shots they had taken at the show and could view at most one photo of someone else's. That's just the reality of how the world is.
There is so much noise.
Everyone is standing next to each other in the photo pit. It is hot and sometimes exhausting and we are sharing the same space, breathing exactly the same air, and our minds and fingers are clicking and clicking. So, we are likely getting the same shots with the same timing at slightly different angles.
But maybe,just maybe, I manage to get something a little different or a little special and that's what I am hoping for.
Let's not celebrate Jane because she died. Let's celebrate her because she lived.

tomorrow we are travelling to Gloucestershire for a family meal with my brother, sister-in-law and partner, and Ben, Abby and Elsie on their way back from Wales. Hopefully Max and Jane will be travelling with us too . . . back soon

I have just stopped to take a photo of this shadow of the plant on my desk which suddenly appeared above my laptop a few moments ago. Now it has gone.
Tomorrow we are picking up Elsie from school and cooking a meal over in east London. On Tuesday we are going to Whitstable for a couple of days to stay in a fisherman's hut and to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary on Wednesday. We are meeting up with friends. I shall dip in and out, but otherwise . . .back at the end of the week . . .

Winchelsea was such an opportunity for taking photos that I had to forgo my usual beach activity: collecting stones. A long shot, I thought, I asked Peter if he would collect some for me and here they are - some of them. He said he enjoyed collecting them .. .

I got a new-to-me barn for my backyard railroad and immediately Jane set about to inspecting it for mice.
jane wears a hoodie from chloeiscrazy, jeans from etsy's minni64 and barbie mjs
and, to all those who offered help on getting the smokey smell to go away, i wrapped her in dryer sheets for about a day and that helped a lot! the funny thing is that everyone in my house is allergic to stuff like dryer sheets. we use a fragrance free hypoallergenic detergent on our clothes. so, we were all itchy just from having the stuff in the house... !!!! after a day, i had to get rid of it!

Peter is the figure walking in the centre of the picture - thank you for driving us safely to Cirencester, to Gloucester and back to London all in one day . . . a trip of about 250 miles.
Gloucester docks is one of my favourite places for photographs and after a rather hectic day it was lovely to spend three quarters of an hour wandering around playing with my new powershot before meeting Caroline and John for a meal.
And late afternoon autumn light is so wonderfully soft . . .
