I got Jane to pose by a window so I could capture some of the super bubbly bokeh you can get from this Polish projector lens.
I was getting some harsh shadows from the sides of the chair she was under so I used a little fill flash.
There is a sort of pleasing softness to this lens that will likely make it good for portraits of humans. For the cat, it softens her fur more, making her look prettier than ever.
This lens was made by Łódzkie Zakłady Kinotechniczne and according to Wikipedia, that was the only factory in Poland to make projectors.

If you are wondering why I didn't post this Jane Birkin photo 12 years ago, I can only tell you there were many photos posted with a review written by someone else (link is unfortunately dead, though).
Also, when I first joined Flickr, I tended to put up sets of bands all at once and I just found that people would rather look at the cell phone shots they had taken at the show and could view at most one photo of someone else's. That's just the reality of how the world is.
There is so much noise.
Everyone is standing next to each other in the photo pit. It is hot and sometimes exhausting and we are sharing the same space, breathing exactly the same air, and our minds and fingers are clicking and clicking. So, we are likely getting the same shots with the same timing at slightly different angles.
But maybe,just maybe, I manage to get something a little different or a little special and that's what I am hoping for.
Let's not celebrate Jane because she died. Let's celebrate her because she lived.

She loves nature. She likes watching it out the window and some evenings we snuggle and put on Nature on PBS, too.

Jane is enjoying our super lower windows made for her to watch wildlife. Her favorites are squirrels and birds. Sometimes other cats stop by just watch Jane as she runs around and plays with her toys.

more than anything I like to capture Elsie secretly amused. So often she appears solemn or contemplative (and nowadays sometimes displeased at being photographed) and so to catch her amused which she so often is, is a pleasure . . .
we played school and decorated the chocolate cake she had made . . .
I got a new-to-me barn for my backyard railroad and immediately Jane set about to inspecting it for mice.

after my Roxy day, I was hoping to take a few shots at Liverpool Street station. I was standing at Leyton awaiting my train to Liverpool Street and suddenly realised that I probably wouldn't have enough time at Liverpool Street before my train home. So, being a here and now, bird in the bsh sort of person, I decided to take a few photos as I waited at Leyton . . .

Elsie agreed to me taking my camera into her room while we talked. I am tryingto have one session per month to keep the album going - long gone are the days I took photos e very week. . . . but never mind. The light was poor, so we stood by the window. And I had to be quick. Very quick!

Peter is the figure walking in the centre of the picture - thank you for driving us safely to Cirencester, to Gloucester and back to London all in one day . . . a trip of about 250 miles.
Gloucester docks is one of my favourite places for photographs and after a rather hectic day it was lovely to spend three quarters of an hour wandering around playing with my new powershot before meeting Caroline and John for a meal.
And late afternoon autumn light is so wonderfully soft . . .
