Aerotransportes Entre Rios - AER
LV-LBS is coming in to land on Riem’s runway 07. The CL-44-6 visited the airport that day along with an assortment of other interesting aircraft: Braniff DC-8-51 N813BN, RAF Comet C.4 XR398, TAT F27 F-BUFU, Southland Corp. Gulfstream II N711SC, and Netherlands Goverment F28 PH-PBX. The last two are seen in the background of the photo above, along with a General Air Yak-40 just appearing to the left of a TIA DC-8-63, and a Lufthansa B747 on the right.
LV-LBS was seen at Riem at least three times during 1973 - I have reports for 20 January, 29 May and 6 October, and there is a photo dated March 1973 (see below). Other AER and TAR CL-44s were occasionally seen at Riem in the early 1970s as well: LV-JZR (AER), LV-JZB (TAR), LV-JZM (TAR), LV-JTN (TAR).
Aerotransportes Entre Rios acquired five CL-44s ex Royal Canadian Air Force and operated this type between 1970 and 1978. Two were lost in accidents, two were sold, and this one - LV-LBS - was broken up at Buenos Aires in 1982 after a few years of storage (source: Stephan Barth on airhistory.net). It had been delivered to RCAF in December 1960, was re-serialled 106924 in May 1970 and bought by broker Beaver Enterprises in November 1971. After storage in Montreal it went to AER in September 1972 and was wfu in 1978.

Short Final for RWY26L at EGKK/LGW morning service JZR001 from Kuwait City (OKBK) A new Gatwick 4 times a week service which commenced operation last weekend. 03/11/19
Not the best photo ever, but unexpectedly a Marshalls double decker turned up while I was out looking for the Saturday B5. As it turned out, I ended up seeing a whole load of these Marshalls ALX Tridents, which pretty much makes up for the fact they repeatedly let me down when I went looking for them on the 857.
Apparently, DD108 was on its way to the Season Finale of The Motorhome Show, which I'm sure was as gripping as the season finales of all those popular TV/Netflix/whatever series. As other buses were displaying Showground as the destination, I assume this was taking place at the Lincolnshire Showground, which is a few miles north of the city.
Last year I saw a Notts & Derby bus with a Le Mans 66 advert on and thought it was out of date, but another year on from then is yet another Le Mans 66 advert! I suppose the ads were never taken down due to the pandemic and since then have just been left.

Another rare Riem perspective. This picture was taken from a window on one of the upper floors of the ATC building next to the tower. From there, you had a good view on aircraft parked on positions 1-3 in front of the cargo hangar ("Frachthalle").

Power: 68 bhp / 7.000 rpm
Speed: unknown
Production time: 1990 - still in production today
Production outlet: 320 (until 1998)

Special:
- The JZR (John Ziemba Restorations) is a replica kit of the neo-classic British Morgan Aero sporting three wheeler by Morgan and available as "barrel back" (spare tire can be mounted at the rear) and as "beetle back" (curved backside).
- It has a steel construction for the integrated, square tube chassis and galvanized lower body sheet metal.
- The body is made of fiberglass.
- The front suspension and brakes are based on a Chevrolet Chevette, utilizing tubular A arms and coil over shocks or a Ford Cortina MK4/5, while a Ford Escort MK2 supplied the rack and pinion steering rack.
- The rear suspension is based on the donor bike, mostly a Moto Guzzi or a Honda, utilizing its twin coil over shocks, brakes, and transfer case.
- It has rear wheel drive by a long cardan shaft, the transmission is from the donor motorcycle (five-speed from Moto Guzzi), 2x 30mm Dell'Orto carburettors and as an option, modified with a reverse gear.
- The JZR can be "custom-made" with leather trim, machined alloy or walnut dashboard or other new owners wishes.
- Other options are a complete, manual, rack and pinion steer unit from a Chevy Chevette, electric fuel pump (a Honda unit is recommended), brake master cylinder (Fiat 124) and brake lines, wooden steering wheel, bigger front wheels and tires (R135 – R145), a wide rear car tire rim, extended exhaust pipes, Monza Quick-Fill fuel cap, chrome A arms, engine turned alloy dash blank, roll bars, rack & pinion cover, luggage rack, more leather upholstery and special paint.
- In 1998 (until 2000) JZR temporarily ceased production due to legal matters. During this time JZR still produced kits for export though, but no sales in the UK.
