Jumping Spider

This wee one seemed to be judging the distance for its next jump in pursuit of a meal. It jumped a millisecond later.

Let me share with you, just because you see someone on the outside doesn't mean you know who they are on the inside. It is wrong for anyone to assume who you are; be that a chance meeting or a flickr picture. Do not let society, family, friends or a lover tell you who or what to be.

You know that ol' saying; if you don't want it done to you then don't do it to others.

We have all battled loss; be them family, love or friends. No matter what I have lost in my life. I have always found a way to pick up my broken heart. I stand up to brush off my bruised knees and dig in to change myself for the better. I have clawed and climbed out of my deepest and darkest nightmares.

I am here to say; don't judge me on my flickr pictures because some days I feel ruthless, a portrait of my pain. Some days I live in fear that I am all the shit I hate. Some days I'm broke, some days I'm rich. Some days I'm nice, some days I can be a bitch. Some days I'm strong, some days I quit. I don't let it show, but I've been through some shit.

This is my testimony. . .

I've been brought down to my knees - And I've been pushed way past the point of breaking but I can take it, I'll be back, back on my feet, this is far from over, you haven't seen the last of me.

There will be no fade out, this is not the end. Times get hard sometimes but I was built tough. I'm gonna show you all what I'm made of... you don't know me, you don't know who I am.

I will no longer be pushed around. I am on my feet. This is far from over. You haven't seen the last of me. This is NOT the end. I will show you what I am made of.

Excerpt from www.rbg.ca/events/chrysanthemum-and-dahlia-show/:

The Hamilton District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society annual show includes dahlia blooms from the entire array of the ADS classification and is a highly impressive spectacle of size, colour, and form!

These blooms are “exhibition quality” and typically not found in local garden centres. There will also be a Design section of the Show which will highlight dahlias and chrysanthemums in various themes according to the Design Show Schedule. There is currently a judging school program running at Royal Botanical Gardens through GCO and many of the students are anxious to enter the show in order to achieve their credentials requirements.

A large falcon that is endemic to South Asia including parts of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This is as large as a Peregine Falcon and taller than Saker Falcon, but more leaner unlike the bulky build of Saker Falcon or Peregrine Falcon. We sighted them on two days in action - they were hunting in the area and one of them was fighting with the Saker Falcon.

The 2nd day, we sighted 3 of them - most likely a family and this one is the immature one judging by the size and plumage. The adult - likely a female was teaching the bird how to hunt and they both stuck together for almost an hour or more after which they disappeared together.

This immature one tried to hunt on its own, but wasn't successful, so it landed back on this perch briefly. The fog was so thick and heavy that it was challenging to shoot. We enjoyed the experience of watching them in action though.

Many thanks in advance for your views, faves and feedback - very much appreciated.

How some folk think this is acceptable I’ve no idea or judging by the warning notices fastened to the bin handles they just don’t get it - brown bins in Wakefield are for Garden waste.

I’ll not publish the exact location just to protect the innocent but rolling through the back streets of Wakefield Freightliner 66542 is only half an hour from its destination with 4E24 the 06:13 Felixstowe North to Leeds Freightliner Terminal.

On a recent photo walk with a photo buddy around York (the Ye Olde original and not the ‘New’ fangled version across the pond), we explored some of the Snickleways; alleyways to you and me. There are tons of these around the city, which can offer some interesting photo opportunities.

This particular one opens up onto Judges Court, which from 1720 until the early 1800’s served as lodgings for judges presiding over the Assize Courts in the city, and which is now a hotel.

Still between Touabaa - Matmata but a little further East the railway crosses a long bridge with a dried up lake in the background. With the hire car, the little Kia that could parked below we waited for the train. Interestingly a group walked across the bridge as we started to hear horns in the distance and thankfully just made it across before it came round the bend, clearly the locals know how to judge it!

There were a number of Noisy Pittas in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens. However they were difficult to photograph, as they stayed in the shady undergrowth, especially when a human was trying to photograph them! It was also getting close to sunset. Eventually I got a couple of half-decent shots at ISO 6400.

The subject was not impressed with my behaviour.

30 years ago, guerrillas from the April 19 Movement (M19) invaded the Palace of Justice in Bogotá, Colombia. In the two-day occupation, 98 people died, including 11 judges of the country's Supreme Court, in one of the bloodiest episodes of the conflict in Colombia.

At the time, the group said that the invasion of the palace was a reprisal for failing to comply with a ceasefire agreed between guerrilla groups and President Belisario Betancur in 1984.

This week, Colombia commemorates the 30th anniversary of the massacre. President Juan Manuel Santos should ask this Friday, 6, in a speech to the nation, forgiveness for the government's action in the kidnapping, in which police, guerrillas, magistrates and civilians died.

Escobar was accused by several media outlets of having sponsored the Taking of the Palace of Justice in Bogotá in 1985, which killed the entire Court and resulted in the Palace's destruction.

The unusually named 'The Ox-Fford' pub, in Maccles-Ffield! Judging by the flags, the locals were looking forward to having a few beers whist watching England take part in the 2014 World Cup. in a few days time. They perhaps enjoyed the beer, but our National team disappointed big time, being knocked out of the group stages after just 2 games. They ended up with just a solitary point after three games.

Jane looks down her nose at me. I think she was thinking about sneezing but the look is similar to judging.

She had been sad I was gone for a few hours and RAN up to see me as soon as I got home. So I held her for a few hours. She was so happy to have me home. She was purring so loud I couldn't hear the TV; she is one happy cat.

they say never judge a book by its cover; well this shot was inspired by the cover of the book: 'she isnt the man i married'.

The judging tower has been erected at Snapper Rocks for the WSL (World Surf League) surfing competition. It starts next month and will run for two weeks. The beach will be closed off to the public, with entry available only to paying attendees. Professional photographers and media will have the best view from the platform.

Retook a nicer pic of my judge revamp from back in 2019. Still super happy with this build.

I had a 1967 Beetle 1500 in 1980. It certainly wasn't as good looking as this one!

I've owned 1200 and 1300 Beetles too, and in truth there isn't much point in buying anything other than the 1200 IMO as all the bigger engined ones did that I could see was used more fuel; a lot more fuel in the case of the 1500. Possibly that's why the 1500 was only produced for a couple of years or so and must be a rare model today.

It was last MOT'd in 2018 and had covered 70,000 ish miles then. Judging from it's usage pattern that could well be accurate. It last changed owners in 2020.
