I managed to do the double, and get a shot of a United driver trainer in Middlesbrough - I'm not sure if it was the same bloke trying his luck with both firms ....

 

After a near 12-year spell with Midland General and Trent, this Lodekka FLF joined the United fleet in 1978 as a training bus, and lasted longer here in that role, until the end of 1990.

JNU 134N was an East Midland Bristol VRT with ECW H39/31F body, it was new to the company in June 1975. The picture is on the B6543, Lordsmill Street, in Chesterfield it is passing between St Mary & All Saints Church and the White Swan pub. The bus finished up as a playbus in the UK and then made the long trip to Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
