Wheeling 218 crosses a creek in the borough of Bridgeville, which is only a few miles from the finish line at Rook Yard in Pittsburgh proper. Leading was the 6383, the JJ Gonzales commemoration unit.
For those wondering, JJ was a longtime employee for the Wheeling & Lake Erie, and had over 55 years of experience in the railroading industry when he passed in 2012.

NHL training camps are starting up and so is local hockey. This was JJ's first game 3 years ago. I've always liked this photo but never got around to posting it, but the beginning of another season seems to me like the right time. I like the triangular shape with JJ at the apex, a white sweater against the reds.
