Im Zuge des Wiederaufblühens der analogen Schwarzweiß-Fotografie ist der Markt für SW-Filme recht unübersichtlich geworden. Neben den Filmen der großen Hersteller findet man einige Exoten. Manchmal sind es Restbestände verschwundener Hersteller in neuer Verpackung, manchmal wird Kino-Filmaterial als KB- oder Rollfilm konfektioniert, selten sind es vollkommen neue Emulsionen.

Einen besonderen Weg beschritt 2016 der Japancamerahunter (JCH) Bellamy Hunt: Er decided to go with an old discontinued surveillance film that was original made by AGFA, and had it put back into production. And thus JCH StreetPan was born! So this is a re-born film, not a re-spooled film that is still being sold. This is also not an ‘old stock’ film or a ‘pancake’ that was kicking around a ‘dusty warehouse’. This is a freshly produced emulsion with an expiry date of 2020. The film was no longer being produced and I had it put back into production.

Der Film ist sehr feinkörnig. Seine hohe Emfindlichkeit mit erweitertem Rotbereich prädestinieren ihn für die Straßenfotografie unter vielfältigen Belichtungsbedingungen.

2018 ließ Bellamy Hunt den Film in eine Einmalkamera packen. Festblende 9 und eine – geschätzte – 1/100 Sekunde Belichtungszeit schränkt allerdings den Einsatz als Straßenkamera etwas ein.

Film cases have finally arrived! Shipping was incredibly fast, 4 days between postage notification and delivery.

Cases are smaller than I expected, which is good. The plastic feels very sturdy and rigid, top cover fits snug. Great way to bring a ton of film for my next trip!
