Go-around under dark sky for this Boeing B747-446 JA8910 (cn 26355/1024) operated by Japan Airlines - JAL 🇯🇵
Formerly JA8910 with Japan Airlines, this 747-400 went to General Electric in December 2010, replacing an even older 747-100 in the engine testbed role. Assignments have included testing the CFM LEAP engine used in the 737Max and A320neo, and the GE9X powering the upcoming Boeing 777-9X.
Soon to be a thing of the past JAL 744's. Here seen back in much better times a JAL 744 passes the control tower on very short finals for runway 13 at Kai Tak. You can just see part of the crowds on the car park to the left. This would have been taken during the final weeks based on the amount of people on the car park.

Japan Airlines JA8910 (Boeing 747-446) is seen arriving at Sydney Airport in 2006. This aircraft is now a testbed for new engines with General Electric
General Electric owned Boeing 747-446 N747GF, used by this company for inflight engine testing, at Victorville CA. For some reason, the winglets usually found on this mark of 747 having been removed. This aircraft originally delivered new to Japan Air Lines in Mar 1994 as JA 8910, and withdrawn from service in 2010.
