Simplicity! The beauty of Italian cuisine is that an Italian dish is simple even the table lay out. Fresh stove oven pizza, lasagna, pasta and the lamb were excellent at Alberto's, Novotel Hotel.

This rather striking architectural structure is the large central pillar and ceiling design in the restaurant. I’m afraid that it was a bit distracting and as the tables were arranged around it, there was little hope of forgetting its existence as you ate!
Yesterday was one of those days that called for a night out and we both opted for a casual Italian dinner at one of our local favorites, Villa Buena in Burke, Virginia. Great wine and fantastic pizza.....so good I went back today to get this shot.
And the take home leftovers are long gone : ))

Italian restaurant on a very wet night in Bruntsfield. Not really an evening to dawdle on the walk home from work, but the rain and darkness made the lights stand out more and I liked the wet pavements in B&W, so I whipped out the camera for a couple of very quick handheld night shots on the way home
