In celebration of Asian Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month, I collaborated with the wonderful Asians Airbnb team and created "The Very Hungry Red Panda" art to celebrate the Asian Night Market at Airbnb. The event features 30+ API small local food vendors, and 10 API Airbnb hosts, as well as 30+ API performers, such as singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and so on. The event attracted 1,000+ patrons and generating additional business values towards the local small business owners.

This is also the debut of my inaugural “Animals Save Animals” project. I plan to create new artworks monthly, inspired by the endangered animals from different continents on the earth. It starts with the Red Panda, because, let's face it, it is pretty darn cute. It is also unique to Asia and listed as “Endangered” as its wild population is fewer than 10,000 and continues to decline due to habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and inbreeding depression.

The red panda at the Night Market represents the small businesses and artists that need our support. As an artist living in the Bay Area, I firmly believe that art can connect people and promote culture and belonging in our community. She invites you to take part in her journey to discover and save endangered animals.

AirBnB hosted the event for AirBnB employee resource groups with outside invited guests. It was an overwhelming success and the room was very crowded. Everyone has a fun evening.

Croc Islanders...not my usual style but they were free (well, except for the cost of the raffle tickets). Also got a floating keychain and a croc arm band with cell phone/mp3 player holder.

The Vicenza Military Community celebrated the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month observance on Caserma Ederle’s Hoekstra Field May 18.

Guest speaker for the event was Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Manglicmot, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 509th SSB.

His speech was followed by traditional dances with Oceania Ohana Dancers, a cake cutting and food sampling. Maj. Joshua Sherer, executive officer, U.S. Army Garrison Italy, presented certificates to the participants.
