I'm not sure if 'irony' is the tag of the street artist that completed this mural or if it has some other significance that I'm not getting.

Irony
"Oh, can you see the irony?
Oh, can you see the irony?
And nobody's perfect under the surface
They'll never see that side of me
Oh, can you see the irony?"

All that’s left of this old Anglesey copper mine is twisted metal and crumbling brickwork from its industrial past.

Esperabas que llegara el lunes , los domingos no te gustaban.
Era tu ritual , te levantabas temprano y desayunabas .
-me dijiste

You were waiting for Monday to arrive, you didn't like Sundays.
It was your ritual, you got up early and had breakfast. Then you would prepare the mate and bring it to me in bed.
You would sit at your desk and upload the photo to Flickr. You were happy, your day began with what you enjoyed so much.
I know you really liked this photo. I remember that day very well, - Amalita turned out great on you!!! -you told me
For you Danielito ❤️
Epecuen a place where you were so caught up in photography.
You felt identified with the sadness of the place and at the same time the beauty that it radiated. So many photos in your gallery prove it.
All friends will continue visiting your gallery, remembering and missing your friendship and generosity.
You will find your inner world reflected in the spectacular photographs, your passion for the mountains, the beauty that you managed to capture in each place and a range of colors with the unmistakable seal of the house. With Pontinian seal! -as I always told you. Unique and unrepeatable!
We were fortunate to enjoy traveling throughout Argentina from Ushuaia to Quiaca. Trips that I will treasure forever in my heart.
Thanks to you, with your incredible images the world has the privilege of knowing how beautiful our country is.
The South, well south, proud South!
Without forgetting your memorable photo captions. Loaded with irony, humor, sadness and a lot of love.
Mondays will be eternally yours my love 💕♾️
A Canadian designed engine, on a Canadian railroad, wearing a few American flags, while contributing to the American economy by hauling a revenue train for a Canadian company. Is this that irony thing?
CN's Manchester Turn over Catfish Creek in Dubuque. Due to the 9515 being a piece of garbage engine, it didn't get moving until 1830, roughly 2 hours after the job goes on duty (to my knowledge - been a while since I was out here). The light getting better as time went on, combined with the small American flags on all corners of the unit (look closely) made it worth the wait, though.
Back in September of 2014, CSX was on a leasing spree. Decatur Subdivison trains Q593/594 were no exception. After Amtrak’s 393 cleared Tuscola, CSX’s daily eastbound Q594 got a clear signal and departed for points east. I was lucky to catch up to him just east of town, where a pair of FURX GP38-2s led the show. Going forward to nearly 10 years later, this same scene could’ve been achieved with the DREI and their leased FURX units (now replaced) taking the reins of this subdivision.
This shop in Williams. Arizona had a row of cowboy cigar store statues. But nary an Indian even though the shop sold native arts and crafts.
Nothing about "no shooting". The sign states "no dumping", while just over the edge of the hill behind the sign is a refrigerator and other discarded items.

Mr. Harrop happened to be in Ogden, Utah and captured this tragic derailment caused by a runaway. If you look closely, a Southern Pacific caboose is crushed beneath Union Pacific 25683.

Big thanks to Sara for posing for me, twice, since i didn’t like the lighting the first time.
And yes, the obvious irony of using an actual camera to take a photo is on purpose.
Only you photographers who have been to Skye and seen the beauty of Elgol may appreciate the sense of humour of this crofter...
And what of little Gemma?
Irony is when something turns out, quite opposite of what it seems to be on the surface. The World is apparently full of ironys.

The dazzling hues of this blue ocean provide enough warmth for the peaceful people who preferred to habitat these isolated islands.
(Originally meant as transit points for migrating birds crossing Indian Ocean enroute to the Sub-Saharan Africa.)
Whether this isolation meant comfort, convenience or hindrance to development, is up to, whoever is interpreting them.
For the past Thousands of years, one thing though, has remained constant.
These islands have always been ruled upon, with an iron fist... by one, selfish, incompetent Thug. (Be it King, Maharajah, President... whatever name he chose to call himself.)
One after another.
The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have meant a blessing, to whoever was at the control.
The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have also meant a most obscene obstacle for the islanders... and reason to remain as they always have been.
Poor.

Earlier this year, a UN initiated survey surprised everyone... when majority of islanders confessed, as to being unaware of what 'basic human rights' meant.
Earlier this year... Authorities also made a promise to allow operation of radio stations (to educate people) within the Country, in 'near' future.
Irony.

Its Autumn. The leaves fall, trees shed old barks, flowers wither, greens go mute. Yet we say, Autumn is in bloom ! A part of nature falls and dies and loses its identity, and we find it beautiful ! Autumnal ironies :)

We are a country of abundant, delicious food and yet we're told not to eat it.
“...you know, one good apple can spoil the rest,” Colonel Korn concluded with conscious irony.”

The irony to this shot is that I spent 6 days down in Louisiana and Mississippi, parts of three days on the CPKC "Meridian Speedway" and never got a road train with a KCS leader (1 CP, 2 UP, 2 NS) The only KCS leaders I got were on locals and switch jobs, for which I certainly have no complaints. On my second day back home though, here comes NS 12Q right at the beginning of my lunch hour with a pair of Belles on the point. Go figure! Toledo, OH 4/5/2024
