I'm not sure if 'irony' is the tag of the street artist that completed this mural or if it has some other significance that I'm not getting.

Sweet Irony is a little café located within LANA, somewhere. Travelers said they were weary on the first encounter due to the various potions, plenty of books and just the overall atmosphere of the café felt 'slightly' suspicious. Not to mention 6 pairs of eyes following you around everywhere you decide to sit, the barista suggested not to make eye contact with them. However, the travelers did enjoy that they could grab a book while having a coffee break with abundance of sugary treats and savory for those who are salty. :p

P.S. Because I can't keep my hands to myself, I ended up messing up and making a café. Something a little more crazier than my first Moon Café. This one was inspired when Bambi asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I believe in magic. ;)

Let the rain pour and bring me to life.

Bernd Reiter, Germany:

Irony of Fate, 2016 (updated 2022), installation: MiG-21, vintage American saloon cars, monitors, sandbags, steel beams, 530 x 810 x 1550 cm

Irony of Fate is a large-scale multimedia installation in which monumental wreckage and streaming news imagery converge in a stark, contemporary tableau. A decommissioned MiG-21 fighter plane lies crashed into two black American limousines, capturing a moment of collision that evokes geopolitical confrontation and global power dynamics. Monitors embedded within the air-craft and vehicles, along with scattered devices and found objects, extend the scene into the surrounding environment like impact debris. The looped footage from current crisis and war zones introduces a continuous media presence that disturbs the somber stillness of the scene. A provisional structure of sandbags and tank barriers anchors the work in present-day European conflict. Both memorial and warning, the installation reflects on responsibility, perception and the persistent circulation of violence in contemporary media.

All that’s left of this old Anglesey copper mine is twisted metal and crumbling brickwork from its industrial past.

(The Tesco carrier bag says ""bags of help" and another ironic sign in the window recommends "Don't miss Black Friday")

I understand this beggar is part of a gang. I've seen her begging in different areas for many years now. I have no idea what kind of circumstances she genuinely lives in, as in if she is a victim that has been trafficked and is now a modern slave or is one of the gang masterminds. It is criminal to take money from the genuine rough sleepers in our city anyway - whoever pockets the money - as there is no way it's going for her clothes.

Returning after a lightning strike took out my phoneline (I know, the irony....). Anyway, I thought it was high time I learned my way around the new SL winlight project, EEP, coming soon to a computer near you. In the words of the Linden programmers, its 'Environmental Enhancement Project (aka EEP!). EEP is a major enhancement to the legacy Windlight environments, introducing new inventory object for defining the environmental settings.'. This is certainly music to my ears and I'm sure those of sim owners and photographers who rely heavily on winlight tweeking. Up to date Black Dragon users have been playing with it for a while now and I can say its pretty awesome and am yet to crank it up to full capacity. If you want to see it in action some sims such as Hangers Liquide have already implemented it.

Doorkijkhuis = translated "see through house".

Back in September of 2014, CSX was on a leasing spree. Decatur Subdivison trains Q593/594 were no exception. After Amtrak’s 393 cleared Tuscola, CSX’s daily eastbound Q594 got a clear signal and departed for points east. I was lucky to catch up to him just east of town, where a pair of FURX GP38-2s led the show. Going forward to nearly 10 years later, this same scene could’ve been achieved with the DREI and their leased FURX units (now replaced) taking the reins of this subdivision.

In every man's life we had each our own strife and numerous difficulties. The history of the world is like a magic lantern that displays to us, in light pictures upon the dark ground of the present, how benefactors of mankind, the martyrs of genius, wandered along the thorny road of honor.

On mighty wings the spirit of history floats through the ages, and shows -- giving courage and comfort, and awakening gentle thoughts -- on the dark nightly background, but in gleaming pictures, the thorny path of honor, which does not, like a fairy tale, end in brilliancy and joy here on earth, but stretches out beyond all time, even into eternity!

This shop in Williams. Arizona had a row of cowboy cigar store statues. But nary an Indian even though the shop sold native arts and crafts.

Candid street shot of a wind shelter on the seafront at Llandudno, North Wales. I wouldnt normally take photos of homless people, but the irony of the image immediatly below the psters celebrating those who welcome visitors to the town was too much to ignore

Nothing about "no shooting". The sign states "no dumping", while just over the edge of the hill behind the sign is a refrigerator and other discarded items.

And yes, the obvious irony of using an actual camera to take a photo is on purpose.

A small bug is stuck to the top of the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher's head as it looks for little snacks.

Irony is when something turns out, quite opposite of what it seems to be on the surface. The World is apparently full of ironys.

The dazzling hues of this blue ocean provide enough warmth for the peaceful people who preferred to habitat these isolated islands.

(Originally meant as transit points for migrating birds crossing Indian Ocean enroute to the Sub-Saharan Africa.)

Whether this isolation meant comfort, convenience or hindrance to development, is up to, whoever is interpreting them.

For the past Thousands of years, one thing though, has remained constant.

These islands have always been ruled upon, with an iron fist... by one, selfish, incompetent Thug. (Be it King, Maharajah, President... whatever name he chose to call himself.)

One after another.

The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have meant a blessing, to whoever was at the control.

The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have also meant a most obscene obstacle for the islanders... and reason to remain as they always have been.

Poor.

Earlier this year, a UN initiated survey surprised everyone... when majority of islanders confessed, as to being unaware of what 'basic human rights' meant.

Earlier this year... Authorities also made a promise to allow operation of radio stations (to educate people) within the Country, in 'near' future.

Irony.

Its Autumn. The leaves fall, trees shed old barks, flowers wither, greens go mute. Yet we say, Autumn is in bloom ! A part of nature falls and dies and loses its identity, and we find it beautiful ! Autumnal ironies :)

not sure about this, but it was a beautiful day today!
