Denali National Park, an immense subarctic wilderness, was originally established to protect its large mammals.
However, the main attraction is magnificent Mt McKinley, a high pyramid of rock, snow and glaciers rising from the valley floor. Dominating this skyline is North America's highest peak; Mount McKinley standing tall at 20,320 feet and one of the most amazing sights in Alaska.
The Denali park road can be used only by official shuttle buses (you can see one on the dirt road), which have limited seating. As a result Denali National Park is still the great wilderness it was 20 years ago.
These magic nights when you get to sleep surrounded by nature, gazing at the starry sky that takes your breath away. Seems impossible to close your eyes when you have this spectacle up there.
