i kinda think that, instead of regarding them selves as polar opposites, science and religion could would and should look at their beliefs in the creation, and every thing related to an explanation of why or how as re-affirming each other.
just one from a spiritual aspect and one from a removed analytical perspective.
i think the one of the greatest scientific minds minds, steven hawkins, said that we would stare into the eyes of god through science.
he also perceived a day when mankind would not need a god, but i doubt that this will ever happen as long as our social conscience feels the need to believe in ghosts, and bigfoot, and the chuppacobra, and the jersey devil, or the loch ness monster, because we can live without the magic.
through nuclear technology we have unleashed the powers of god and the universe and that alone should give rise to the reason that will shall never recognize the face of god even as we stare him in the eye because our futile minds are too busy arguing of who is right . . . . science . . . . . religion, one in the same.
