Auf der seinerzeit ersten internationalen Eisenbahnlinie von Köln über Aachen nach Belgien (eröffnet 1843) findet auch heute noch grenzüberschreitender Zugverkehr statt - neben den ICE-Zügen zwischen Köln und Brüssel sausen seit vielen Jahren TGV-Eurostar-Züge (früher als Thalys bekannt) zwischen Köln und Paris. Triebzug 4341 ist bei Nothberg westwärts unterwegs.

Auf der Strecke Dimitrovgrad-Nis fahren zwar keine regulären Personenzüge mehr, allerdings dient sie dem Güterverkehr aus der Türkei, Griechenland und Bulgarien gen Westen als wichtige Magistrale.
Hier sehen wir 661 325 mit einem (türkischen?) Schiebewandwagenzug im serbischen Ciflik.

Dieser Tag ist euch gewidmet, liebe Frauen. Ohne Sie würde die Welt in wenigen Minuten verdorren, aber seit Jahrhunderten hat die zivilisierte Welt Ihre Verdienste ignoriert. Trotz eurer harten Arbeit seid ihr in den Hintergrund gedrängt worden. Doch dann kam der Tag, an dem Sie auf die Straße gingen, Ihre Rechte einforderten und endlich gehört wurden. Mutige Frauen, Clara Zetkin, Rosa Luxemburg, Alexandra Kolontai und viele andere, wir verdanken es Ihnen, dass Frauen heute Ärztinnen, Ingenieurinnen, Wissenschaftlerinnen, Politikerinnen und einfach glückliche Mütter und Ehefrauen sein können. Die Welt ist immer noch nicht gerecht, aber wir wollen daran glauben, dass der Tod der mutigen Frauen nicht umsonst war und der Tag der wahren Gleichberechtigung kommen wird, an dem kein Mann mehr für seine natürlichen, unveräußerlichen Rechte kämpfen muss. Heute ist Ihr Feiertag, ein Tag, der Sie daran erinnern soll, dass es Gerechtigkeit gibt und dass sie erreichbar ist.

This day is dedicated to you, dear ladies. Without you, the world would wither away in a matter of minutes, but for centuries the civilized world has ignored your merits. Despite your hard work, you have been relegated to the background. But the day came when you took to the streets, demanded your rights and were finally heard. Brave women, Clara Zetkin, Rosa Luxemburg, Alexandra Kolontai and many others, we owe it to you that today women can be doctors, engineers, scientists, politicians and just happy mothers and wives. The world is still not fair, but we want to believe that the death of brave ladies was not in vain and the day of true equality will come, when no man will have to fight for his natural, inalienable rights. Today is your holiday, a day to remind you that justice exists and is achievable.

Surpris depuis un arbre peu de temps après avoir franchi la gare de Gunzenhausen, lieu de croisement des lignes Nördlingen - Gunzenhausen - Pleinfeld et Treuchtlingen - Gunzenhausen - Ansbach ; un combiné boxXpress parti de la capitale bavaroise n'est qu'au début de son long trajet qui l'emmènera au terminal conteneurs de Maasvlakte (= plaine de la Meuse), à Rotterdam.
Conclusion d'une 3ème journée de road-trip, ce perchage dans l'arbre de quelques heures aura permis de mettre en boîte un trafic fret soutenu et les trains de remplacement qui officiaient à l'époque entre Treuchtlingen et Würzburg, pour les besoins de Go-Ahead Bayern (devenu Arverio Bayern depuis).
