It took me forever to get clear pictures of this. I had to use all the lights in the surrounding rooms for my camera to focus. I hate using flash and the way it washes everything out. I like soft light.
If you don't know what this is, it's the main speaker/intercom for the outside and upstairs rooms. And I think it also has a radio on it. I'm not sure. My house is very old and I'm glad we never got rid of this. :)

This piece, inspired by the "The Treachery of Images" pipe painting by René Magritte, mirrors that famous work with the suggestion that although the sign claims the availability of assistance through the mediation of an intercom, the assistance which is described will not be forthcoming, just as the pipe in the painting was not, in fact, a pipe: just an emotionally unsatisfying painting of a pipe.

Entre os dias 29 de agosto e 02 de setembro de 2007, a cidade de Santos foi a capital nacional da comunicação. O XXX Congresso Brasileiro de Ciências da Comunicação (Intercom) reuniu milhares de estudantes e pesquisadores da área nas Universidades Santa CecÃlia (UNISANTA), Católica de Santos (UNISANTOS) e o Centro Universitário Monte Serrat (UNIMONTE). O evento, realizado pela terceira vez na Cidade, contou com palestras, debates, oficinas e workshops, exposições de trabalhos e estandes de venda de livros.

"intercom"
Every apartment in Korea has an intercom. One this day the secruity guard called at 11:45pm at night about a package, which wasn't even there and didn't even belong to us....so rude ! I asked a friend if it was normal to call this late or even past 10pm and he said it wasn't. So, "somebody" is wrong.
