I could not be more thrilled to see this recognition achieved with the Intel Learning Series & the classmate PC. We have not only designed a great product, but have also catalyzed an entire education ecosystem along with leading landmark deployments to help improve teaching and learning. On top of all this, we get to share in the satisfaction of knowing that we have made a difference to more than 4 million kids who are now learning in new ways never imagined.

Intel started building this new office complex in the middle of downtown in the September 2000. They then abandoned the project when the high-tech market started looking shady in March 2001. Turns out Austin was the 5th city that they had done this to. It remains there today, and I'm unsure what the hell is going to happen with it.
