When I saw the report that the Leucistic Bald Eagle made an appearance in the morning I knew I had to take my chances at this super rare raptor. I left at 4a.m. and drove two hours South. I had to wait for the sun to rise, but found him immediately crunching bones from a fish he was holding down on the mudflats. Shortly after he perched just above us next to the walking trail. Still no light but extremely close. He was very calm as he did not flinch when a jogger came by. He flew to this Eucalyptus several times and perched calmly for several minutes. The light was starting to filter through the leaves in the background as this majestic beauty posed for us. It was a very awe inspiring experience I will never forget. We had a solid two hours to photograph him that morning. He eventually flew off into the distance and we were admiring and reflecting on this one of a kind beauty.

I am ever so amazed by the art and inspiration I receive from my Flickr friends.

Finally got around to a Harry Potter picture, even though Will is a Ravenclaw lol - not a Gryffindor. Blame the owl. XD

Inspiring waiting time in my podiatrist's consulting room ☺

What's really important in life? Sitting on a beach? Looking at television eight hours a day? I think we have to appreciate that we're alive for only a limited period of time, and we'll spend most of our lives working. That being the case, I believe one of the most important priorities is to do whatever we do as well as we can. We should take pride in that.

The temple is awe-inspiring in its design and beauty - but a deeper purpose is what happens inside. Just thinking about the ordinances performed inside while I was photographing outside, is also awe-inspiring to me. It was quite busy on this weekday evening.

The Education of a Gardner. Russell Page

In June 2018, the Château de Chenonceau inaugurated a contemporary, walled garden directly inspired by the sketches of Russell Page, one of the greatest contemporary landscape architects.

It is in this beautiful walled garden, formerly a children's playground, that the plans and sketches created by Russell Page for the Menier family will come to life.

To achieve Russell Page's "Ideal Garden," Nicholas Tomlan, the château's botanical director, drew inspiration from reading, research, and visits to gardens designed by Page, particularly in Normandy.

"The Education of a Gardner cannot be, for anyone, academic or theoretical. One must learn about plants, stone, water, and soil, as much with the hands as with the head." (The Education of a Gardner, Russell Page)

“I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully.

Now I don't normally photograph Canada Geese as I don't find them particularly inspiring birds. However as I was walking round the lake I noticed this one was having a bath. When it finished it flapped its wings and settled down on the water again. This was one of the better shots of the sequence I captured.

Life on the Rails

A bit of urban rhythm from the Zagreb archives. Main Station, Tomislav Square, and the impatient wait for the number "4" tram. While the sky threatens rain, people rush to catch up with their lives, and the blue tram is the only one that truly knows where we are heading. A different dynamic from my usual Karlovac scenes, but equally inspiring.

Život na tračnicama

Malo urbanog ritma iz zagrebačke arhive. Glavni kolodvor, Tomislavac i nestrpljivo čekanje "četvorke". Dok nebo prijeti kišom, ljudi žure stići svoje živote. Dok nebo prijeti kišom, ljudi žure stići svoje živote, a plavi tramvaj jedini zna kamo zapravo idemo. Malo drugačija dinamika od one moje karlovačke, ali jednako inspirativna.

The dudes down the way made smoke with their tyres. The broouuummmm sounds filled the valley and then so did the haze as it filtered quickly upward caught in an updraft. This cloud reminded me of this as it slowly morphed from dolphin to burlesque skeleton.

Toni Rodriguez - thank you for an inspiring ref.

I had not realised that making a collage could be so interesting, difficult or time consuming and this too despite taking a print out of the reference! Made over 3 sittings.

I have been looking at Gila Rayberg's inspirational mosaics for a while now and more recently I saw a beautiful piece by Irit Levi and was excited about trying out. I decided that a collage would be easier than making a mosaic. While it might be easier, I can confirm that it isnt easy! :D

This was not staged.
