Window gnat on my greenhouse glass. Whilst shooting the jumping spider I noticed this gnat down on the sloping glass - this was shooting into the natural light- hence the highlights on the damp surface
This dragonfly devoured an entire insect in front of my eyes. Unfortunately, I had the wrong lens on my camera at this point and tried shooting with my zoom lens. By the time a got a decent shot, most of the victim had been eaten.

In twenty years of watching insects I had never seen this uncommon fly of rivers and streams. Two days ago I saw my first one and today I saw AND photographed 2 more in another location. Amazing!
we went for a lovely walk in Vogrie Country Park. I took tripod and my new toy - a macro focussing rail - along. I am very pleased with the rails. Next, I should have a go at focus stacking.

Grande variété d’habitats secs ou humides, ensoleillés ou semi-ombragés, herbacés ou arborés. On la trouve sur diverses plantes, souvent sur des chardons, des ombellifères, des crucifères et des graminées.
