Had an unexpected visitor in the garden the other day - a red admiral butterfly. Natural light/fill flash
Added a 10mm extension tube to the 75mm lens and got this shot. Tried it with the 25mm as well, with similar subject size, but had to get much closer...
Papilio glaucus. This is the most perfect specimen I have ever photographed. It must have emerged the same day I saw it.

Wow, I found this when I was out walking yesterday. I don't know what sort of critter makes a perfect little pot for a home, but there was something moving around in there. It's a classic, don't you think? Anyone know whose nest this might be?
A stick insect from Ecuador. I saw several of these during night hikes in habitats ranging from forest to gardens. Perhaps the colors serve as a warning that it has a unpleasant taste or is poisonous to consume, either way I didn't find out.
EDIT: Thanks to Bruno Kneubuehler, this has been IDed as a adult male Monticomorpha flavolimbata.
