radio4 has some amazing fly shots and one day I am going to take one like his!

the heavy wind dislodged it several times and it curved it's body around the leaf it was perched on to help it to stay in place

I was trying to get one in flight but couldn't quite manage it.

The zombie apocalypse has begun! (Bugun?). Head for the hills (not that it will do any good).

So, does anyone know what species this was before it was turned into a zombie?

(Just to clear up any confusion, this is a perfectly healthy fly. I just think it looks like a zombie)

More from Thurlbear Quarrylands and Thurlbear Woods, this time the butterflies.

The same pair of grizzled skippers as in the previous shot. After pairing up they quite quickly settled into this position and seemed very unconcerned about the macro lens a few inches away.

Explored 2014/05/12 #4 :-)

Or, the equivalent for those flower seekers. Not sure what kind of creature this is (okay, I know it's an insect!!!), but I found it crawling around the top of this dandelion.

shot with Canon G9

I'm not sure what kind of eggs are these. A tachinid fly?

It seems Tamron 90mm covers full frame Sony A7II sensor.

Rhyothemis fuliginosa

...in pristine condition.

About two inches long and climbing up a mustard stem to eat the flower. It's head is at the top with two small black eyes facing toward the camera.

(I added a 20mm extension tube to get close.)
