The Toledo Zoo is highlighting the birth of an elephant calf with a life-size inflatable elephant near its entrance.
this is my son, standing in awe in front of a two-storey inflatable 'bouncybounce' or whatever they're called. he really wants to go on it, but it's a birthday party in the park and we're not guests.
this image is total lo-fi. it was shot using my Kiev 30 subminiature camera as test roll, on 16mm Copex microfilm. then scanned on my flatbed scanner (not a negative scanner). for some reason most of my 16mm shots, no matter which camera, have lots of scratches on them. this roll is particularly scratched.
rather than get rid of them in photoshop, i kept them, and added a slight sepia/brown tint to the whole thing. give the shot an ancient look.
I love the Halloween inflatable decorations! For the most part they are happy rather than scary.
Look carefully there's a bonus kitty in this shot. I also like the three-eyed alien pumpkin on the porch.
Here our the Inflatable dolls used as a background element for a film about jump roping. Every film has a unique overall look and color palette and our company must follow those guidelines since we provide the wardrobe, faces, and headgear for the mannequins. This was a hip hop urban look so we used lots of hoodies and ski hats.

Sarah Lowe got a grant and called me up to help her plan and build Ice Age. This 25' tall inflatable sculpture was built in Berkeley Repertory Theatre's scene shop over the course of two weeks. It was transported to the site in the bed of a pickup truck. At the site was the first time we were able to fully inflate the piece. It was on display for one day only and ultimately was recycled. Poof!
