This is my first photo to upload to aDay.org (assuming I can get on the upload server... I suspect it is overloaded).

I should note that my desk does not normally look like this, but I had several cases come in at once along with several previous deadlines to meet, so things got a little out of control. I do plan on clearing this off today, but it seemed to make for a good "Work" photo for aDay.org.

You will note in the tags that I put in Gideon v. Wainwright which is the seminal case for the 6th Amendment right to assistance of counsel in criminal matters. The latest issue with right to counsel is whether indigent defendants are receiving effective assistance of counsel due to the typical workload of a public defender.

WIN FOR THE INDIGENT DEFENSE INITIATIVE: In Galveston, #Texas, we won the first case in our docket focused on #IndigentDefense for criminal defense attorney Drew Willey, who was punished by a local judge for zealously defending his clients.
