Agra (India) - Don't trust the environment. As a general rule, despite a lack of health regulations, you rarely get sick when you eat the dishes of this type of establishment. The trick is to avoid raw foods like vegetables. An adventurous gastronomic experience certainly, but far from sanitized industrial food. Well, I'm not going to assure you that it's organic and gluten-free.
Our recent visit to Dakshin Restaurant on Belgrave Road in Leicester, surprised us by the lovely wall mural that they have had painted. Lovely colours and a marvellous peacock! The restaurant is a vegetarian place specialising in South Indian Food.
The Lasani Indian Restaurant in Southwell is divided into two parts with the normal seating in one area and this special ‘party’ area in another.
The Ashiana is a multi-award winning Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant at North Muskham, just a few miles out of where we live in Newark.
It has won many awards including the Best Bangladeshi Restaurant in 2023! This year, along with several previous years, it is shortlisted for best Indian Restaurant. It recently won the award for Best Indian Restaurant in the Midlands.
Luckily, they also serve takeaway meals and all I have to do is jump in the car, speed up the A1 motorway and it’s barely 10mins drive! Faster than going into Newark, negotiating traffic, traffic lights and parking problems!
Bit pricey but generally worth it. They also have recently built some letting rooms.
It used to be the old Pub called the Muskham Inn.
Lasani have been here for about a year after taking over an abandoned pub on Church Street in Southwell. They are really very good, with top class food and prices to match. We can testify as to how good they are!
