What a spot in the Indian Ocean just south of the island of Digue in the Seychelles might look like from the moon.
Ibo Island is a very remote Island in the Indian Ocean. The only way to reach it is by small aircraft from Pemba, Mozambique. There are only a few flights a week and passengers go and come directly to and from the island.
Life on the island is calm and peaceful, but I saw boredom creeping into the lives of the staff at the hotel. I enjoyed the two days I was there. I read, ate, slept and photographed the peaceful setting. There were water sports for those more active than me. All in all, it was a treat to experience such an unspoiled paradise.

On a very hot and humid day in the small southwest Madagascan Vezo village of Sarodrano, a woman was proudly carrying a very large Job fish, which also served to shade her from the broiling sun.
For about three weeks now, I have been managing to get up at 5 o'clock every morning and go for a walk on the beach at sunrise (recently even combining it with a quick dip in the surf). It is fascinating to observe how the spectacle in the sky presents itself differently every day. Sometimes you see the red sun rising out of the sea, sometimes it appears pale pink and barely visible, sometimes it has one or more dark streaks, and sometimes it remains absent and you hope that it won't rain before you get home. As always, I have staged a sunrise here from my imagination.

Along our 1.5 km long beach Mawella there are probably half a dozen small resorts, boutique hotels or private accommodation. I estimate that now in the high season a total of about 40 people spend their holidays here. Since the beach is located to the south, it can hardly be enjoyed during the day. But early in the morning, around sunrise and early evening, there are always a few people frolicking on the beach. It's always interesting for me to see how differently people use the beach. People know and greet each other, especially long-term residents. Some only appear briefly and can hardly believe the silence, the peace and the direct nature. Here's an obvious influencer setting up her mobile phone on a tripod and then standing in front of the camera in the water to produce a short sequence.
The final image in the completed series, Tsunami Zone Hikkaduwa represents the power of nature, the sea and the respect we must hold for the elements. It is my small tribute to all the victims and also represents the indomitable spirit of the Hikkaduwans who have survived the tragedy and continue to rebuild their homes and lives a decade after the tsunami struck.
Dolly Beach on Christmas Island has to be the prettiest beach I've ever been on. Warm, isolated, turquoise water and huge waves.

Il existe un grand nombre de temples Tamouls sur l'île de La Réunion. Celui de La Possession (rue jacques Prévert) est le plus grand et l'un des plus beaux. Il faut dire que ce qui caractérise cette île c'est la diversité : culturelle, cultuelle, ethnique, gastronomique et bien d'autres choses encore. La population réunionnaise est arc-en-ciel et au cours d'une promenade ou d'une randonnée on croise et on salue des gens de toutes origines. Le métissage et le côtoiement respectueux est la règle absolue à La Réunion, et c'est bien agréable !
There are a large number of Tamil temples on La Reunion Island. The one in La Possession (Jacques Prévert str.) is the largest and one of the most beautiful. It must be said that what characterizes this island is diversity: cultural, religious, ethnic, gastronomic and many other topics. The population of La Réunion is rainbow and during a walk or hike you cross paths with and greet people from many origins. Mixing and respectful coexistence is the absolute rule in Reunion, and it’s very pleasant!
