This arrived today --- in an envelope that I was nervous and afraid to open today.
Someone at the IRS really does check the tax forms that are sent to them, and if an error is made the person is notified. Luckily my error was in my favor so some of the money that I thought I owed was returned to me because I had sent the IRS more than I should have. I even called for an explanation and to verify.
I should have been more careful (did my taxes at the last minute).
Thank you IRS --- now that’s a first, thanking the IRS. I still owed a pretty penny :-)
