I was about to photograph the bunny on the sidewalk and another bunny ran by. Nice when you get two, this happens rarely.

This photo was done for Macro Monday and the theme of the week was "In the center".
We should all have a Flame that light our path and guides us thru the good and the bad times..the Flame should never die...
The theme for Macro Mondays is "In the center," and, while this 25-shot group needed a little windage adjustment to nudge it a bit closer to center, it'll have to do. I shot the group about 15 years ago with my .44 magnum, using somewhat reduced hand loads to keep the recoil down to more manageable levels.

These are micro (macro) photographs of the deep interiors of my roses.
If you ever wanted to know what was going on underneath all of those beautiful petals, now you know.
The colors, as bright and saturated as they appear, are authentic, and the textures are natural; nothing has been added or altered in post-processing.

When considering goods, services, a new car or even renewal of a Flickr membership, money is very much in our consciousness.
The worn 1900 silver dollar in the image is worth about $32-. Note the 'O' just above the "DO" of the word dollar, this is the New Orleans mint mark.

A lovely red corkscrew...looking through the hole into the shaft where the metal screw part is that descends into the cork when the handle is turned. It is in it's "storage mode" of activity in this photo--fully retracted into the hole.

Indian Creek Road is the short cut I take to get to Rt. 96. There is another way to go, but it doesn't have a street light on it, so I rarely take that way unless I'm heading north.

A tiny (2.5 in ~ 6.35 cm ~ in diameter) red box with black spots made of wet felted wool and a vintage button.
The name on the attached tag is Grace Mahanes. She is a member of the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia. On her page she writes ~ My journey as an artist/crafter started as a knitter in the 1950s when it was popular to knit socks for your boyfriend. In the 1980s I knitted more sweaters than my family could wear. That is when I joined the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild and Gallery. Being a member of such a talented group inspired me to try other mediums and techniques. Today my favorite venue is wet felting. I make purses, hats, vessels, clothing and jewelry. I relish making felt flowers. I use flowers for pins, barrettes, hats, belts and necklaces. Belonging to a felting study group and taking numerous felting classes has opened up unlimited possibilities to feed my soul.

This theme seems to be easy but hard to creative. I still try to approach it in the nature.
本週微距群組主題是「中心」,我用花心來表現囉!扶桑花有多種培育種,我家庭院有顆花瓣和花蕊是黃色,而花瓣根部是紅色的品種,只拍花心部分,很有對比色的衝突感~

This small weed flower, when measured at the outside diameter of its petals, petal tip to petal tip across the widest opening, is only 1/4" wide...the whole flower! Look at the amazing complexity and beauty contained within this 1/4" beauty...in the center.

Some of these photographs appear to be close-ups of regular-sized flowers; they are not. All of these photos are micro (macro) photographs of the super-tiny blooms that blossom on common weeds.
Weed flowers...wild flowers...whichever appellation you want to bestow on them nonetheless these almost microscopic beauties are the flowers that bloom on the weeds in my yard.
Many people also assume that these flowers are, for example, squash or zucchini-sized flowers, or that they are flowers 1" in diameter or larger and are perhaps on stems a foot tall or so. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Most of these flowers when measured petal tip to petal tip at their widest diameters measure 1/4" (6mm) across…or less...the entire bloom is that small. And the average stem height is only a few inches tall, if that.
The smallest weed flower I've shot yet is a small ring of flowers that measured less than 1/32" (.7mm) in diameter which encircled a spire which measured about 1/64" (0.3mm) in diameter.
For some photos I’ve included references to common objects such as the head of a paper match, or the head of a pin, which dwarfs some of these tiny flowers! On some others I’ve listed a description of the actual size of each object in the photo.
So far I've made over 700 photographs of over 50 varieties of weed flowers.
I hope that seeing the variety, beauty, and intricate complexity of this small world astonishes and pleases you as much as it has me.
Thanks for looking.
