Like Most Men my age, I grew Up in an Era where Comic Books where the daily digest in my town. In those days a graphic novel was a mere 25cents and you could buy 12 books for $3.00 I think thats about the average price of one magazine these days. LOL Anyway.....I Thrived on reading Marvel & DC Comics by the time I was 13 I had well over 2,500 or more. and I kept mine in the protective plastic bags and boxed according to hero or the group that they were in*
I even learned how to draw from reading these things and wanting to emulate what I saw everyday. Boy Stan Lee really had a major Impact on my childhood! Dark Knight/Detective Comics & The X-Men were always my favorite comics. And like most "Wolverine & Batman" were my fav. characters. It wasnt until much, much later on in life that these Superheroes were made into major motion picture Idols.
With the rise of technology and special effects Hollywood has been able to produce what I read for so many years on the silver screen. I think if I had to choose being one of these Superheroes in "real life" it would Most Def. have to be

HOLLYWOOD! I don't watch much TV, but American Idol is one show you don't interrupt me during.
I dragged myself out of bed so that I could listen to this in the surround sound in my living room. Yes I am an electronic/gadget junkie... I have an High Def (HD) tv, surround sound, and HD Dish box.
The Viking invaders came down from Hanko, southern-most town in Finland, Pearl of the Baltic and beautiful sunny seaside town, to dreary, grey and damp England. They drank our beer and wine, tried to destroy our countryside, they ra...........no, they didn't, otherwise I wouldn't invite them back next year. Anyhow, I told them not to do that as they tried to defy Newton's Law. But I suspect, despite the weather these Vikings will be back soon, keen to gorge on the sights, culture and traditions of our great nation once more. But it's our turn to raid their place next!
By the way that bit of stone is "Idol Rock" at Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire, England. There's no optical illusion. It really is like this. God help the person who pushes it over, and anyone underneath it at the time!

The Zbruch River formed the boundary between the Russian Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire up to the end of World War I. The river changed course slightly at one point, and in the place where the river had departed, in 1848 they found a statue that is now known as the Zbruch Idol. This happened just outside of Личківці (Lychkivtsi), a small village in Ternopil oblast that just happens to be where my grandmother was born. Last year, I bought this wooden carving that replicates the idol, the original of which is at a museum in Rzeszow, Poland.
The most commonly held theory is that the idol represents Sviatovid, a pre-Christian pagan Slavic god of abundance and war. Ukraine has an abundance of good land and wheat, and now they have war, so it seemed appropriate to show this picture of him.
I had run out of Polaroid Blue by the time I took this (actually, I had one shot left, but it came out waaaay underexposed), so the top here is shot with One Instant Color film, which has a blue cast.
Ukraine needs help. Razom for Ukraine is a reputable charity that started when Ukrainian-Americans wanted to help Ukraine during the 2014 Revolution of Dignity. They send humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including medicine, hospital supplies, and communications equipment. You can find them at razomforukraine.org/ .
Ganeshchaturthi is a festival celebrate in India. Its been celebrate as birth anniversary for lord Ganesha where people work-ship by keeping idol for a week or ten days an do poojas for lord Ganesha, then finally they do immersion for lord ganesha in sea as a sending off ceremony.
