Back to day one of the holidays and back to Buttermere this time to some lovely sunshine cascading down around the far end of Buttermere and casting some light on Warnscale Beck and the lower slopes of Fleetwith Pike.
I'd just about got over missing the F15's at this point, but I had managed to drop one of my new filters, idiot. To say I was furious is an understatement, its now pitted and god knows what will happen when I use it. Oh well, these things happen. Although I was so mad I nearly launched it into Buttermere the red mist had almost descended!
Time to sit my backside down and try to calm down a bit as this is such a great place it's no good being there and being annoyed even if it is only at yourself. Luckily, I had this view and a nice tuft of grass to sit for twenty minutes or so and take some shots of this view. All is well again :o)
men are lunatics and women are idiots ;-)

And then
But now
What is one thing the average driver can't stand? Well of course one answer could be a slow driver in the fast lane, Highway Patrol posted up in the most annoying spot possible, or maybe even that damn check engine light. However, the answer I was looking for was waiting for a train, and during this trip for the crew of a southbound, they would see three cars try to beat the train. One was a truck just south of Maxwell, which a buddy and I saw, another in Arbuckle, and then another here just outside Williams. However, this driver was particularly stupid.
Although my friend and I didn't see this happen as we were taking photos at the time, another friend who was one of the crew members explained to me what happened. As the train was approaching the crossing, a white SUV went around the gates in an attempt to beat the train, but then suddenly stopped. Although there was nobody in front of this car, whoever was driving then proceeded to backup almost into the gate, and due to the angle of the crossing got within only a few feet at most of being hit, narrowly avoiding an expensive and embarrassing trip to the auto shop. The crew obviously was pissed, and the conductor got out to yell at the driver as they passed by. It was only after the power had passed that my friend and I on the ground noticed the SUV, and we laughed knowing well that driver probably needed a new pair after that.

Very early, very windy and very cold, but nothing was keeping this person from a selfie. Luckily the young are beyond danger - even when sitting outside the barrier. Just please... don't sneeze.
(Very impressed with Pure Raw's improvement on this one. The details really jumped up and the noise vanished)

Bells and Idiots have somethings in common. They are loud and persistent and the fact they are hollow make them even more loud. Alexander Graham Bell wasn't an idiot but his invention helped idiots to be even more annoying.. youtu.be/P5sl27WgGPU

Taken when the temps were in negative numbers, an ice fisherman patiently waits for a nibble.
I was thinking, what kind of idiot sits on the ice and fishes when it's below zero. He was thinking, what kind of idiot stands out in below zero weather and takes pictures of ice fishing? LOL!!
Dangerous surf at Newcastle's main beach meant it was closed to swimmers and flagged as such. The bloke centre frame decided that didn't apply to him, jumped in off the rocks out of frame on the left and proceeded to head south through the surf zone. He made it, with a sizeable audience on shore, but with no regard for the lifesavers who would have been obliged to rescue him if he got into trouble.

Big thx to malengarek for the edit.
The team made it just in time to send a message to the comms room and the other team powered up the reactor. It seemed now, after so much lose and blood spilled, we would get the help needed to end this and go home. That was until the I saw it, which we now come to. Commander Lazvis just sent me a final order, reporting that I was to take command in his absence. I have my communicator on for all to hear and we all understood the message just fine. My only hope was now, to make him proud and bring the rest home. As we opened up communications, mysteriously our signal was being jammed. As we checked the source of the problem, we discovered a bug in the system. It was a file I didn’t previously see titled “Project Black Wing”. The pieces now all came together going through it and I felt like an idiot. I should have known from the start. We were never suppose to make it out alive. The anomaly wasn’t ours to stop, we were the bait. Over and over I made my men try and open up a line, but to no avail. I could hear the creatures coming our way and knew then, no matter what, we weren’t making it off this ship. I told everyone to prepare for a final stand. Little did they know of the true meaning this all meant. I didn’t want them to die hopeless. I guess that’s what it sometimes means to be a leader, even in the face of annihilation.

This sign in the boat parking area at Tinchi Tamba Wetlands says it all. A reflection on a section of today's society. Need I say more?
Copper theft is rampant these days, the railways suffer badly from it because electrics tend to be needed along tracks for signalling and points and sports clubs who have overhead lighting are another long suffering target.
Don't wanna be an American idiot!
Don't want a nation under the new media
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind fuck America!
Alright!
Welcome to a new kind of tension
All across the alien nation
Where everything isn't meant to be okay
Television dreams of tomorrow
We're not the ones who're meant to follow
For that's enough to argue
