Supposedly, these two rooms were used for identity parades in the old police HQ of Frankfurt. Now, it's just photographers looking for subjects.

Kmb's lovely version & all other details here ... ♥

just in case I forget who I am!

What a lovely surprise this morning! 'Identity' has been chosen as cover for SL In Timeless Black & White ♥!

Thank you very much 😙✨

You can keep me forever but you can’t keep my heart.

You can keep my freedom but you can’t keep my free will.

You can keep my life but you can’t keep my soul.

You can keep my love but you can’t keep my hate.

You can keep my joy but you can’t keep my sorrows.

Because I am a human with no name & identity ......... !

"""""""" WHO AM I ????? I would really like to know that!!

So sorry, that I immediately barged in with a serious philosophical issue……

But yesterday I was just an ordinary square piece of paper, cozy on a pile with my family and friends.

Suddenly I had to do all kinds of stretching exercises to get into this shape and I really don't know what will happen next…….. missing my friends……feeling quite stressed……. Hopefully time will reveal it soon! """""""

A piece of paper having an identity crisis ;-))

Wishing you all a nice day, despite the weather conditions, much rain here…...

Jewelry can identify you

Or not

It depends on the thought behind

Sometimes you just fancy them and have no clue if they actually have a meaning, hidden or not

For some reason human beings love to wear hearts

Cherishing the thought of its meaning, mayby even lacking what it's meaning

Lacking not to receive it

Lacking having someone to give it to

Or maybe you just want to symbolize who you are or who you want to be

I found this heart in my office drawer some years ago and thought it was my daughters, I thought it was fake stuff

I liked it and she wasn't around at the time so I put it around my neck to remember giving it to her when she came home and I loved wearing it

Months later I found that it was white gold and diamonds for real and that it was mine, lol - no use giving me expensive jewelry obviously

The Diamond, in its rarity and beauty, is a symbol of purity and innocence, of love and fidelity, and embraces strength of character, ethics, and faithfulness to oneself and others.

It is a love-bearing crystal, no wonder they belong in the shape of a heart.

Pearls do get tired of being worn all the time, so I had some years not wearing my biwa pearl, but last year I needed the energy it could give me. Pearls symbolize wisdom acquired through experience and offer protection and I needed this in 2018.

I just had to wear them both at the time.

They symbolize me and my journey and although I'm safe and sound now they are now around my neck again, probably for years - I don't change my jewelry so often 😁

Who am I ? Its a common question and never ending story for all of us

A snatched grab shot in the supermarket as the citrus fruit here looked quite bright as required for this week's Saturday Self Challenge 14/12/2024 -- Bright & colourful !!

Problem is , I thought I was taking a shot of limes - some ripe and some not .But , the price ticket at the bottom of the tray it said " Loose Lemons " !

Whatever they are , the choice this week was very limited for bright and colourful subjects with the cloud hiding anything worth taking outside !!

Thinking about it , they must be limes , if they were lemons it would be a tray of cars with one problem after another !!

The only Lemon song I can think of has to be this one --------

I came across this photo when I was recently looking at the photos of Angel Olsen. I've been thinking about human identity lately and how to preserve your sense of self and sanity with all of these absolutely horrific executive orders that I just feel the constant onslaught of. Cindy Sherman has always had a playful approach to her own identity and her physical self is recognizable from photo to photo yet the human remains and so does the artist.... I posted a photo of a different street moment with the same ad in monochrome that I don't like at all now but I love what I wrote (and this was in 2012):

From the delusional clowns to the duplicates of duplicates of selves, related and jarred up to those dissected by Republican policies. Every moment in every black and white film that we feel happened but never really occurred is happening to us right now because we are all Cindy Sherman.

We wake up everyday and we are all Cindy Sherman and we must feel the devastation of our identities slowly being widdled away and dissolved as easily as simple molecules crashing into eachother then slowly giving up, becoming elusive and transparent. The harshness of reality is that we're going to have to deal with this. You are Cindy Sherman and so am I and so is the person you love most and your worst enemy and the one sitting next to you and the person who knows all of your favorite songs by heart.

It is terrifying, awesome, and it has already happened.

We are all Cindy Sherman and it is a rather grand delusion that anything different could be a possibility. We have forgotten how to be ourselves. We don't remember what it's like anymore to have an individual pain, to not be able to share with the collective consciousness of the world our inner anguish and everyday needs which have become completely ubiquitous...because, after all, we are all Cindy Sherman and Cindy Sherman is in all of us.

Or, as Jeff Mangum sings, "How strange it is to be anything at all." Indeed.

At the ADM plant in Enderlin, this ex IC GP10 resides as the switcher. It appears this did receive a new paint job at some point, but it has faded significantly over the years, and the IC heritage is now quite apparent. Not much info I could find on this locomotive, but it was a neat find. In light of recent news, I went to the tornado path online, and found out this photo was taken less than a mile from where the EF5 had struck. Can't imagine what it must have been like that night.

i was at the plaza mayor in madrid, a cold drink in the warmth of a café. i’d stepped away for a moment, just a quick visit to the washroom. on my way back, i saw him - of the men behind the bar, leaning against a black wall, his profile lit faintly by the glow of the room. he had tattoos that spoke of stories, a dragon curled along his skull, fierce and intricate. i asked for a portrait; he nodded, wordless.

against that dark background, his face carried the weight of something unspoken, his dragon looking out as if guarding secrets. the café buzzed around us, oblivious. in that moment, it felt like the world paused for this frame, this story etched in ink and light.

A Chicago & North Western SD40 finds itself at the UP yard in Provo, Utah the afternoon of April 27, 1989. CNW 923 was built Chicago Great Western SD40 No. 403 in August 1966.

CNW 923 was rebuilt SP SD40M-2 No. 8626 by Morison Knudsen in 1994. After a stint on the Missouri and Northern Arkansas it joined the Kiamichi Railroad, painted in Genesee & Wyoming colors.

Does anyone know the identity of this plant. I like that it has two colours of flowers on the same stem.. From a bouquet.

This was a funny and surprising sight to see! Mr. Chickadee on the hummingbird's feeder.

25313 [possibly] heads away from Bayston Hill towards Condover in circa August 1981.

My reason for saying 25313 is because of the position of the 'dominos' and the slightly different heights of the electrification warnings.Of course this could be more common than I realise. I await to be educated by the more knowledgeable.

I'm fairly certain that this is 1981 as I don't recall this working after around 1982. But then I was someone who used to just arrive at the lineside and photograph whatever turned up.

Looks like CSX U36B #5797 (former SCL 1847) never quite made a complete transition to the Blue & Gray.

Seen here working ex-L&N Siebert yard at Mobile, AL on 13 February 1993 with GE MATE #5204 (former SCL 3204).

The 5797 later went to TTI.

I'd love to identify this branching tree with its rather stiff fern like leaves. Very unusual for northwestern CT.

Prairie blazing star (Liatris pycnostachya) blooms in profusion in a high quality longleaf pine savanna in Newton County, Texas.

This is another image taken on private land in the Pineywoods of east Texas. In stark contrast with the imperiled forest I posted yesterday, these woods are protected through legal agreements with nonprofit conservation partners and are managed to maintain exceptionally high quality habitat. I use the term “woods” lightly for this longleaf pine savanna, as, despite the trees, places like this are more prairie than forest. This site is rich in prairie genera like Schizachyrium, Andropogon, Eryngium, Silphium, and so on. This savanna received a growing season burn this year, which is typical of the fire regime under which the community evolved, and contrary to the cool season burns that primarily occur today due to a variety of non-ecological reasons. The results were spectacular, and Liatris pycnostachya in particular seemed to respond.

Most of my fellow foamer friends think this thing is hideous and won't shoot a train if it's on it. I'm in the other camp and think its kind of awesome with its mis match of eras. What camp are you in?

While waiting around for some window trains to pass I grabbed this clean roster shot of PW 4001 a GE B40-8 blt. Jun. 1988 as NYSW 4004. It is the trailing unit on Providence and Worcester freight DAWO (Davisville to Worcester) which runs under the cover of darkness and is the only freight train that normally operates on this stretch of the busy Northeast Corridor. The prior night's southbound WODA crew ran out of time and was unable to make the trip back north, so they tied their train down here just railroad west of the US Route 1 overpass. It was brought to Worcester later in the day by Valley Falls based PR-3 once they are done with their regular customer work.

I wasn't able to wait around for that to happen but did catch a few trains passing them as they sat on Main 4 just west of Malcolm interlocking at MP 169.9 on Amtrak's New Haven Line main.

CSX (SBD) GP40 6773 (reportedly built as SCL 1619) is parked at the company shops backlot in Waycross, GA. If only the Seaboard logo was on that yellow nose.

This unit allegedly went to Point Comfort and Northern, then New Orleans Public Belt, now works for Nebraska Central, proving they don't make them like they used to.

In this section / there must be at least / 53 identities /on the outside / not be be discerned / one from another.

BCE47142 *LG71DXA* seen at Ham working on route 65 towards Kingston.

Back when photographing the new BCE buses on the 65, there was a number of them that had been diverted to this route instead of their allocated routes. BCE47142 is ordered for the 125.

The registration plate at the time BCE47142 had been carrying was LG71DXA, which is the plate for BCE47143. BCE47142 has since of photograph been corrected to LG71DWZ.
