In Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city of Myanmar, UN Women in Myanmar, the UN Global Compact Network, KBZ Group and Myanmar’s Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, led an event where 148 Myanmar business leaders pledged to uphold and apply the Women’s Empowerment Principles to promote greater equality within their respective practices. Jointly developed by UN Women and Global Compact, the seven Principles provided businesses with guidance and tools on advancing and empowering women in the workplace, marketplace and the community.
In keeping with this year’s International Women’s Day theme of “Women in the Changing World of Work,” KBZ Group launched an inaugural forum on “Creating Inclusive Growth” in Nay Pyi Taw on 6 March. The Forum was attended by 222 participants including Aung San Suu Kyi, Head of the Myanmar Government, other dignitaries, government, civil society and business leaders, as well as UN representatives. In addition to leading the pledge signing ceremony, UN Women launched the global HeforShe campaign at the Forum, and facilitated a session titled “The Future is Female”, where participants discussed the economic importance of reducing the gender gap in employment and explored various business models aimed at integrating more women into the workforce

On International Women's Day, UN Women staff in Kyrgyzstan joined a march calling for women’s solidarity, fight for equal rights, a life free of violence and gender-based discrimination, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Technocamps annual International Women’s Day gala dinner welcomed nearly 200 guests to the celebration at Patti Pavilion, Swansea. The evening has become a regular feature on the Welsh social calendar, with guests travelling from all parts of the country to attend.
This year was the 24th anniversary of the event which focuses on women in STEM, and their journeys to where they are and how they wish to inspire future generations.
The evening showcased the work being done across Wales to encourage the next generation of women, with talks from Royal Mint CEO Anne Jessopp, CBE, Llusern Scientific Founder Dr Emma Hayhurst, University of South Wales Digital Forenstic Lecturer Bethan Jenkins, and STEM Cymru Student of the Year Anna Petrusenko.
To start the evening, Anne Jessopp, CBE discussed her experience of being the first woman CEO of the Royal Mint in its 1,100-year history.
Dr Emma Hayhurst, the CEO of Llusern Scientific gave us ten extremely valuable life lessons, whilst providing insight into her journey as a microbiologist in academia and now as a CEO.
Bethan Jenkins followed this by giving insight into Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, and her journey with Gwent Police as a Forensic Quality Specialist and Digital Forensic Examiner, to now teaching the next generation as a Lecturer at USW.
The night was finished with a passionate speech from Gower College Student Anna Petrusenko, who share her incredible story of moving from her hometown in Ukraine to being awarded Student of the Year 2023 by STEM Cymru and winning the International Olympiads.

Between March 7th and 16th, UN Women Algeria closed a capacity development training cycle towards 700 local elected women on the occasion of the International Women's Day. On the eve of the elections, UN Women in Algeria gathered to share the leading practices for developing leadership skills and empowering elections candidates on how to run campaigns which aim to enable local elected women to maintain their level of commitment and strengthen their participation in local assemblies.

AHF Cambodia organized the “International Women Day “event celebration on 8 March, 2020.
50 girls ranging from 15 to 20 years of age joined us. They are from the slums community around Phnom Penh and their community leaders, NGOs with total around 70 participants.
UN Women has been partnered with Radio Republic Indonesia (RRI) for their “Suara Perempuan”/ “Women’s Voice” talkshow for the past 2 years. The talkshow aired every Thursday to discuss range of topic related to women’s issues.
