The stuff that goes on in your flowers. Loving my new lens - having fun delving into a new very small world.
My goal was to make the whole image feel alive. Water is the source of all life so it had to be included so my focus is on the water drop and I sprayed water behind the wheat grass while I shot the image.
ODC - dusty or dirty (dust on my sensor, lots of cloning this morning)
Walking to work in Chingford London and was just putting my camera back in my bag when I turned and saw this sitting in a tree. It's obviously not wild and probably escaped. I pointed it out to a few locals and hope it got reunited with it's handler although if it's savvy enough it might have a nice life with all the rats and pigeons in London.
There are so many factors that contribute to the colors of the sunset over the ocean. My preference is the ones that are softer, in more pastel shades. This moment was captured seconds after the sun no longer was visible using a long exposure with movement. The flocks of birds are a common sight at this glorious hour. It's as if they were gone for the day and now at sunset know it's time to head home. I never tire of this experience, and it's the perfect ending to any day.
Alot of people stop on the corner between Glenuig and Roshven. On a clear, sunny day it is a fantastic viewpoint either out to the small Isles of Muck, Eigg and Rum or inland up Loch Ailort with the mountains on either side. Too often the view is stunning but I can't decide whether to stop and take a picture. It's easy to say it will look this gorgeous any other day and drive on by. Today, with a bit of extra wind I just had to have a go at a panoramic shot (4 images)
It's a steep climb down into this bay. So not many people get to it. Th area was an old coal mining district long ago. On the bottom of the cliff on the left you can see the entrance to a mine shaft. Long since sealed the miner s must have figured it was easier to enter at the level of the coal seam rather than dig down

Another iintentional camera movement photo looking up at the Madison building in London’s docklands. The advertising tag line for this structure is ‘iconic design that creates motion’. Designed by Make Architects.
It is probably a coincidence but 'It's Madison Time' was a popular dance song by The Ray Bryant Combo from the late 1950s/early 1960s. This spawned the Madison craze, which is still a popular line dance. I still own the record bought by my father in the early 1960s. The song and dance was made popular again in John Waters' movie, 'Hairspray'.
Macro Mondays theme.
A hinge on our back yard gate, paint peeling off.
Maybe not so appealing really.
Well, it's the end of February, and in past years, I'd have my Philadelphia Flower Show ticket in my hand, and would be chomping at the bit to get down to the convention center with the rest of the crazies so I could immerse myself in a floral fantasy.
One of the nicest things about this event has always been the timing. It usually held at the beginning of March...just about the time I've had just about enough of the cold, colorless, bleak winter.
It also fell just before the beginning of the gardening season in our area, so it always helped to inspire me as I headed out into my own garden each year.
Last year, because of the pandemic, for the 1st time ever, they moved the show outside to FDR Park, in June.
It didn't work out well for Larry and I with our timed tickets. The day we went, there were severe thunderstorms and we were forced to evacuate the venue about an hour or so after our arrival. It was also hot as hell!
Unfortunately, they've decided to hold the show in FDR Park again this year....so again, we'll be at the mercy of Mother Nature.
This year however, the tickets are NOT timed, so we can listen to the forecast and adjust our plans accordingly!
We can't break our 24 year attendance streak!
Meanwhile, here's a few pics from the 2020 show, themed Riviera Holiday. The last one they held indoors.
I'm off to see if there'll be a sunrise this morning in the Brecon Beacons. I guess Pen y Fan will be too busy so I'll go elsewhere. During a snow shower on my last visit I noticed these beautiful receding ridges beyond Cribyn. It's quite understated and calming , a nice change for me. Velvet snow is by Kings of Leon, and that was the first title i saw this morning when I opened my playlist.
Well it's been a while since I last posted a picture here :)
I hope everyone is having a good time and enjoying the summer that is approaching.
Some things change while other things remain the same :)
I think its important to be able to look ahead, but also learn from what you have experienced along the way :)
Trying to develop ourselves to the best we can be :)
Hugs Jennifer
It's a dreary grey day so I thought I would practice playing with a monochrome pallete. Welcome to my world of brown. Have a colorful day!
It's supposed to get colder and rainy in the next days, so I thought I'd better take a few photos of Cleo before she won't be willing to put a paw outdoors anymore. You can always count on her for a Tongue Tuesday shot as she doesn't have much patience with photoshoots and will sooner or later make her feelings pretty clear. HTT !
I went to "my" park this morning to take a few photos of the tulips which are at their best now. Every year thousands of tulips are on display in front of the palace at Ludwigsburg and it's a beautiful sight. Sunny and warm weather would have been nice but it was foggy and quite cold (only 4C when I arrived). The positive aspect of this kind of weather was that I was almost alone there.
Not my words, this chap's as he ran past me heading for cover. Seen on Mount Street, Manchester, UK
I love the expression on the face of the chap behind....!
it's Friday again... and I'm Tired!!!
My husband was doing the driving, so I have to keep myself entertained in the passenger seat... I clicked this big wheel as we were stuck in traffic on the Long Island Expressway going into Queens.
It's actually remnants of a Moon Snail's shell. I found it while collecting seashells at Sanibel Island in Florida several years ago. This theme is a wonderful challenge: it wasn't until I had been looking for a pareidolia for a few days until I remembered this shell!
photo size: 2.37"W by 1.52"H and 6.03cm W by 3.87cm H
Theme: "Pareidolia" The human brain can create meaningful and significant shapes from patterns and textures. Take a photo of a pareidolia you perceive.

It's a clear afternoon
almost spring,
warm March afternoon
that the breath of near April carries;
and I am alone, in the silent patio,
looking for a candid and old illusion:
some shadow on the white wall,
some memory, on the stone parapet
from the source asleep, or, in the air,
some light-robed wanderer.
In the atmosphere of the afternoon floats
that scent of absence,
that says to the luminous soul: never,
and to the heart: wait.

A lovely rustic hut we discovered on one of our hikes this autum in South Tyrol, Italy ... I can imagine sitting there, enjoying the evening sun on the bench with a good book and maybe a glas of fine wine ... and perhaps some fairies or elves would join me, too ;))
Good to be back :))
Have a lovely 3rd Sunday of Advent - and Happy Sliders Sunday

Adventssonntag

Song- ALIAS- I NEED YOU NOW - MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY
Here I am
At 6 a clock in the morning
Still thinking about you
It's still hard
At 6 a clock in the morning
To sleep without you
And I know that it might
Seem to late for love
All I know
[Chorus:]
I need you now
More than words can say
I need you now
I've got to find a way
I need you now
Before I lose my mind
I need you now
Here I am
I'm looking out my window
I'm dreaming about you
Can't let go
At 6 a clock in the morning
I feel you beside me
And I know that it might
Seem to late for love
For love
Guitar Solo
[Chorus:]
I need you now
More than words can say
I need you now
I've got to find a way
I need you now
Before I lose my mind
I need you now
More than words can say
I need you now
I got to here you say
I need you now
Before I lose my mind
I need you now
I need you now
