This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for faith-departed
And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud
It's my life
It's now or never
But I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just want to live while I'm alive
It's my life
Yeah, this is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina, who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder, make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky, got to make your own breaks
Once I thought that I could fly
I tried so hard I wonder why
So innocent and full of life
So far away the worldly strife
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s just the way it′s meant to be
After all we were young
And nothing′s new under the sun
This is where it all begun
We lead our lives on and on
On and on and on and on
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s just the way it′s meant to be
You gave me all I′ve got
Then you gave me just a little bit more
A little bit more
A little bit more
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s all about you and me
It′s just the way it′s meant to be

It's okay
I know someday I'm gonna be with you
It's okay
I know someday I'm gonna be with you
Speak to me
My heart is free
My love has gone away
Tell me true
My heart is blue
My love has gone away
The waters of Reflections Lake in the Palmer Hayflats are beginning to melt, especially at the margins where you can see that band of translucent blue. The only green are the evergreens as things have not budded out yet. In some ways it's a very stark environment but that's what it's like near the end of April for us.
Taken 18 April 2022 at Reflections Lake, Alaska.
Happy Fence Friday
Alyson Shotz’s Mirror Fence - it's the shape and size of a typical white picket fence
Life's a long, long road, if we are lucky. For so long I've just followed the road, it seems with one wheel stuck in a rut at the side steering me along without me being in control. And it has gone on and on. There's a crossroads further down in the picture, in the middle of nowhere. No signs. No landmarks. Just an empty crossroads where two roads meet on the barren moorland. I'm getting near there. Do I carry on straight or turn, left or right, and explore a bit to the side...perhaps it was a waste of time, the wrong choice....nothing to see down there, and return to the junction.
I'm almost at that point, decisions, decisions in deciding if I leave so much of what I've known, work, Cheshire and the hills around, friends, goats, North Wales and take a change in direction.
We've found a place. A long way north. Seven hours drive north to Acharacle, Argyllshire at the far end of Loch Shiel. Mountains, lochs, deer, little beaches with white sand, heather...........
I've seen recently how hard it is to leave everything you've known and strike out somewhere else when my son took his young family off to New Zealand. They'd said they never could have anticipated how difficult it would be to say "Goodbye". My turn soon.
"No, it’s just honey, Brad!" (Okay... I‘ll stop!)
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Bread and Topping". It shows 'Zwieback' (rusk) and honey. Certainly not what you'd call gourmet breakfast, but hey... I'm a simple man!
Shot with a Schneider-Kreuznach "M-Claron 60 mm F 5.6" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
"t’s time to move on", said the little spider and disappeared into the wildernis of the garden. I'm sure she found a wonderful new home for her eggs. ;-))
Happy weekend ahead :-))
The stuff that goes on in your flowers. Loving my new lens - having fun delving into a new very small world.
My goal was to make the whole image feel alive. Water is the source of all life so it had to be included so my focus is on the water drop and I sprayed water behind the wheat grass while I shot the image.
ODC - dusty or dirty (dust on my sensor, lots of cloning this morning)
Walking to work in Chingford London and was just putting my camera back in my bag when I turned and saw this sitting in a tree. It's obviously not wild and probably escaped. I pointed it out to a few locals and hope it got reunited with it's handler although if it's savvy enough it might have a nice life with all the rats and pigeons in London.
Another iintentional camera movement photo looking up at the Madison building in London’s docklands. The advertising tag line for this structure is ‘iconic design that creates motion’. Designed by Make Architects.
It is probably a coincidence but 'It's Madison Time' was a popular dance song by The Ray Bryant Combo from the late 1950s/early 1960s. This spawned the Madison craze, which is still a popular line dance. I still own the record bought by my father in the early 1960s. The song and dance was made popular again in John Waters' movie, 'Hairspray'.
Macro Mondays theme.
A hinge on our back yard gate, paint peeling off.
Maybe not so appealing really.
You tried to make me think
That the blame was all on me
With the pain you put me through
And now I know that it's not me it's you!
Well, it's the end of February, and in past years, I'd have my Philadelphia Flower Show ticket in my hand, and would be chomping at the bit to get down to the convention center with the rest of the crazies so I could immerse myself in a floral fantasy.
One of the nicest things about this event has always been the timing. It usually held at the beginning of March...just about the time I've had just about enough of the cold, colorless, bleak winter.
It also fell just before the beginning of the gardening season in our area, so it always helped to inspire me as I headed out into my own garden each year.
Last year, because of the pandemic, for the 1st time ever, they moved the show outside to FDR Park, in June.
It didn't work out well for Larry and I with our timed tickets. The day we went, there were severe thunderstorms and we were forced to evacuate the venue about an hour or so after our arrival. It was also hot as hell!
Unfortunately, they've decided to hold the show in FDR Park again this year....so again, we'll be at the mercy of Mother Nature.
This year however, the tickets are NOT timed, so we can listen to the forecast and adjust our plans accordingly!
We can't break our 24 year attendance streak!
Meanwhile, here's a few pics from the 2020 show, themed Riviera Holiday. The last one they held indoors.
I have been single for six years in the sense that I live alone at home.
Since breaking up with my ex, the only man I've ever really shared my life with, I've still been dating. I spent nine months with one guy, never living together, a few weeks with another and three more for what were just one night stands.
So I'm still single. And so it is based on real facts that I will tell you, in four parts, this "story of my life".

Well it's been a while since I last posted a picture here :)
I hope everyone is having a good time and enjoying the summer that is approaching.
Some things change while other things remain the same :)
I think its important to be able to look ahead, but also learn from what you have experienced along the way :)
Trying to develop ourselves to the best we can be :)
Hugs Jennifer
