Ten miles from town and I just broke down

Spittin' out smoke on the side of the road

I'm out here alone just tryin' to get home

To tell you I was wrong but believe me I won't stop at nothin' ...

about the model,

Jo (秋) is an excellent commercial studio photographer. I have a chance to learn Strobist lighting method from her recently. I hope to implement more of what I learned to my future work, even though I personally prefer more of natural lighting method !!!

This photo satisfies requirements 1 (poorly exposed) and 5 (poorly composed). This photo is of a 2011 lexus is350 and was taken at around 10pm under the light of a streetlamp in an otherwise dark street. While most of my photos here break some rules of composition to get how they look, I think This one is the best representation of breaking the rules of composition because the subject of the photo is in the exact center of the picture. The rest of the photo other than the car is also heavily underexposed which draws more attention to the car and the highlights due to the edges and curves of the car.

The focal length of the lens was set to 35.8mm so that I could stand further up on a hill above the car to get a better angle of the front and top of the car in this light. The aperture was also set to f/3.6, the largest it could be set to given the focal length so that the car would be in focus but not the background would blur a bit. The camera was on aperture priority mode and the ISO was set automatically to 8000 and shutter speed to 1/60 seconds. Exposure control on the camera was set to the -2 setting so that it would be underexposed as well.

In post-processing, I brought the exposure down a little bit and lifted the highlights and whites just a little bit to emphasize the car more.

Looks like Lexus has found an innovative way to boost sales.

They found a way for the low-budget buyer to buy a high class vehicle! You get 1/3 of a car for a third of the price! Ingenious!

As you can see, this particular customer has chosen the Lexus IS350! What a beaut! Comes with the optional rear axle!
