Ovahe Beach - The best place to rest in all of Rapa Nui.
Can you imagine a beach with pink sands but without the possibility of bathing in its waters? This is what defines Ovahe Beach, in short, a small enigmatic oasis on Rapa Nui for those who seek to be alone and enjoy a day of peace to explore the natural wonders of an indescribable place like this.
What is Ovahe beach like?
Playa Ovahe is an isolated place, 100% virgin and destined to enjoy peace and tranquility. Its swell is stronger than that of the other beaches on the island and bathing is not allowed, but it is offset by a unique solitude that will be difficult to find in other parts of the island or the world.
Ovahe has incredible pink sands caused by the volcanic cliffs that surround it and that share its hue (the cliffs have a strong reddish color). This natural panorama is incredible in the eyes of all visitors.
Finally, I found water that is warmer than in Anakena and even more transparent. If in Anakena I saw marine biodiversity clearly and spectacularly, here it was as if nothing separates the surface and the seabed.
Unlike Anakena beach, in Ovahe the activity is focused solely on enjoying the place. It is not a beach suitable for swimming (it has more waves than Anakena - NOT in my day) and there are no nearby food stalls or sale of handicrafts or bathrooms.
Since the number of visitors who come there is reduced compared to other places on the island, they make it a perfect place for rest, peace and admiration of nature.
Now, if you want to take advantage of its waters, you can snorkel, dive or fish. Why could I do these sports if the beach is not suitable for swimming? Because these sports are guided by natives of the island and are carried out deeper than the shore, so they are less dangerous.
If you want to do any of these sports, you must, yes or yes, hire it in the city Hanga Roa since in the Ovahe sector you will not find anyone.
Regarding snorkeling, I tell you that the marine diversity of this place is more abundant than in other areas, and I was lucky, I saw the famous Easter Island turtles up close.
Finally, and due to its proximity, I chose to visit two beaches in one day. Here my option would be to go to Ovahe and then in the afternoon pass quickly and enjoy the beer, food and toilet of Anakena.
Due to the orientation of Ovahe and surrounded by a high volcanic hill, the best time to enjoy the sun and take pictures is in the morning. In the afternoon the beach stays in shade. This can be a problem for some, but it can be a blessing for others, since that circumstance allows refuge from the sun on the hottest days.

This drawing is on the label of Fat Tire Brewery's Voodoo Ranger IPA. I like both the label and the IPA a lot. This image seems seasonally appropriate.
A bottle of Punk IPA from BrewDog in Fraserburgh, Scotland, at HåndverkerStuene in Oslo.
This was the fourth beer we got during the BrewDog tasting on April 26, 2010.
The BrewDog Punk IPA is a 6.1% abv "post modern classic pale ale" and the beer they broke through with. It poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Nice citrusy hop aroma, grapefruit and orange. Mouthfeel is fairly tart, there's not much sweetness left. Flavor starts out with a mild malt tone and a fruity freshness. The hops are citrusy but with some resinous bitterness that lingers in the finish. A very nice IPA.
A super-hoppy (101 IBUs!), high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops

The wingman was ZK092...wearing primer finish!!!
We might be on the west coast but this NEIPA comes right from it's origin. It's the real thing and you will agree this is no imposter. Tropical, full bodied and unfiltered, this is the beer that started a revolution. Galaxy - Ella 6.4% ABV

Flavoured with coriander and white tea. Rather pleasant and highly hoppy. Brewed in The Netherlands.
An Aussie IPA hopped with Vic Secret. Clear, crisp, with a clean bitter finish and notes of pineapple, pine, and passionfruit. From Powell Brewery in Eastvan
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, a highly rated beer through BeerAdvocate.com.
I support BA's opinion.
"Our belief has always been that beer can have as much flavor, complexity, diversity, food-compatibility, and ageability as the world's finest wines...thankfully we've never had to bend toward the status quo."-Sam Calagione, founder. (From the Boston Sunday Globe)
If fortunate to find, you just have to sample this brewer’s 120 Minute IPA. $35-$40 a 4-pack seems a bit steep, but sticker shock subsides upon first taste.
This hazy IPA has waves of fresh melon and hand-squeezed citrus notes. Double dry-hopped with Citra and Azacca during and after fermentation. A juicy treat that lingers like a hazy dream. From Parkside Brewing in Port Moody

I've followed Storms Hurricane IPA through its slight changes and loved them all. Storm is a true micro brewery. Thank-you James for staying true Vancouvers best reliable IPA ever
This IPA has four select malts in combination with three classic hop varieties and time-honoured traditional brewing methods including dry-hopping, resulting in a golden ale with exceptional flavour and complexity. A true IPA in every sense.
Originally launched back in 2014, Lone Wolf quickly became a staple to Fernie Brewing's year-round lineup of brews.
