Sin duda, la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias es un conjunto arquitectónico que no deja indiferente a nadie.
Situado a lo largo de dos kilómetros en el antiguo cauce del río Turia, esta ciudad futurista pretende estimular la mente de quienes la visitan.
Es obra de Santiago Calatrava y Félix Candela y cuenta con edificios inusuales, diferentes y tremendamente originales, como el Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía, dedicado a la ópera, o l’Hemisfèric, la sala más grande de España para cine IMAX y proyecciones digitales diseñada con una cubierta ovoide de más de 100 metros de longitud y una gran esfera en su interior que constituye la sala de proyecciones.
Otro símbolo de esta ciudad futurista es el Ágora, una gran plaza cubierta situada entre el Oceaonogràfic y el Puente de l'Assut de l'Or, otra espectacular creación de Calatrava con forma de arpa y que cruza el jardín del Turia.
Precisamente, para disfrutar de este jardín también se cuenta con el mirador del Umbracle.
Imax îs a Canadian company and this is the world's very first permanent IMAX theatre. The technology was a derivative of work pioneered by Bell and employed in their exhibit at Expo 67.

The IMAX cinema opened in 2000 and was the first IMAX cinema to be built in Scotland. Like the Science Centre, the IMAX Glasgow is clad in titanium.

Imax is a male shark reported to be 4.3m long. Apparently he has been seen at the Neptune Islands for the last 15 years!
When I visit London I always stay at the Union Jack Club in Waterloo. Usually, I get a room that faces south so I haven't had a chance to get this shot until now. Setting my camera up on the desk in my room and shooting through the window, I managed to avoid any reflections by turning off all the lights. It looks great during the day, but really comes alive at night when you get a few light trails from passing traffic.
The BFI IMAX at Waterloo is the biggest cinema screen in the UK at 20m high and 26m wide. The cinema was designed by Bryan Avery of Avery Associates Architects and completed in May 1999.
I've been to see a fair few films here now and always get amazed by how big that screen is!!
