One of the three IL96 that formed the Russian Delegation this year on the Annual Munich Conference back to Moscow VKO
"RSD86" operated a repatriation flight for expelled Russian diplomats and spies from Belgium and The Netherlands. It took a very strange route, flying north of Scandinavia, then westbound towards The Netherlands over the Norwegian Sea and North Sea before entering Dutch airspace and thereafter Belgium. This is due to Russian aircraft not being allowed to fly over the EU (this aircraft got permission to fly over the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).

A nice looking plane looks even better in a light like this. And how about a rare Russian aircraft? Very sleek silhouette of an IL-96 on short finals to Fortaleza's runway 13, at the end of a beautiful afternoon.
