Returning to Mother Earth, three humble leaves rest in the water's embrace, having performed their duty together with the tree on which they grew up. Forests are the lungs of the "spaceship Earth", removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere we breathe. Deforestation of tropical and other primordial forests, along with other human activities, leads to the desertification of vast areas, compromising the future of humanity. Remember, there is no Planet B.

Another shot of the same waxwing I uploaded as the first image in this series a couple of days ago. This was one of 40+ of these beautiful birds that I saw on Thursday morning in the community orchard at Woodvale in Kingsway Gloucester, close to Asda. This bird was very confiding and let me get within a few feet of it. Sadly the light was awful on my visit and it was bitterly cold.

VALLE DE LOS INGENIOS (TRINIDAD)
Declarado por la UNESCO en 1988 Patrimonio de la Humanidad,constituyó un fructífero asentamiento de grandes plantaciones azucareras que alcanzó la cúspide entre los siglos XVII al XIX.
Solo en este valle en 1827 habría 57 fábricas con miles de obreros....y esclavos.

Cuba es muy grande, tiene 1.250 kms de largo por 193 kms en su punto más ancho y 31 kms en su punto más estrecho.
Un archipiélago que lo componen más de 4.195 islas.
Otro día hablaremos de sus ríos....más de quinientos.
