Hydrangea at our son's

This will be a pink hydrangea flower soon. Right now I enjoy it being green with the little bits of pink starting to show!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS, FAVES AND INVITES!

The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.

Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.

Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.

A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.

Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.

Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.

Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.

So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.

Hydrangea flowers (Hydrangea "Dance Party")

A stunning display of blue hydrangea flowers in full bloom, surrounded by lush green foliage. The delicate petals and vibrant colors create a serene and picturesque scene.

This spectacular Hydrangea bush is a lovely welcome sight by the driveway leading to our French holiday house "La Brugere".

My apologies again for my quick visits on here. The internet is broken and tethering to a mobile that loses connection all the time is frustrating!

While im on line ...... i just want to say THANKS for all your comments and favs and visits. They are always and very much appreciated x

Good morning everyone .

Last year our hydrangeas bloomed in May This year we have only one of many plants blooming only now.

I have two hydrangeas in my garden. One has not yet bloomed this summer. This hydrangea produced pink flowers last summer and was much taller. This year the flowers range from a purplish-white to blue, like this one.

Having seen several pretty hydrangea photos lately here on Flickr, I decided to try my hand at it as I rode my bike past a collection of them. In developing the photo, I aimed for almost a glowing effect. It might've been easier to achieve that in Photoshop, but I did what I could with Lightroom instead.

I've loved hydrangeas ever since I saw my first one decades ago, way before they were so trendy, but I've never seen these little stars. Maybe I've not looked closely enough, or maybe this is a variety I've not seen before. Cool though, eh?

The area around the cosmos garden has become a popular walking route, featuring hydrangeas planted by locals that increase in number year by year.

Though it got interrupted last summer, we've gone to Cape Cod every summer for a week with two couples over the past 13 years or so. With vaccinations, we were able to do it again this year and just returned from a magical week. Four of us are grandparents now, and 3 of us were actually toddlers together as our Moms were best friends. Hopefully we can age with some grace in the way this hydrangea exemplifies in my friends' Wellfleet garden.
