An up close photo of my daughters hydrangea blossoms

HPPT!

Thank you for your visit, comments and Favs.

……with a couple of extra’s, namely Catmint a pale pink Peony and sporadic blue & white Canterbury Bells. I took the low PoV option to include the picture postcard sky. I note that in 2019 I have just 20 'Garden' shots in the file, whereas in 2020 thus far 264 with a further 158 in the 366 file, now I wonder why that might be? Lets hope not too many flaunt the Covid guidelines and cause a second wave!!! Alan:-)

For the interested I’m growing my Shutterstock catalogue regularly here, now sold 43 images :- www.shutterstock.com/g/Alan+Foster?rid=223484589&utm_...

The warm sun of Summer is still stroking us occasionally, Autumn sneaked upon us, but it is here, the calendar tells me.

I look up, I look down, the leaves are turning, the leaves are falling, less and less flowers, drying up, discolouring...from green to yellow, from green to orange, from yellow to orange, from orange to red, they all end up brown and dead.

These Hydrangea, if cut at the right time will give you a Winter-long pleasure of colour!

Have a colourful day, and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

Though it got interrupted last summer, we've gone to Cape Cod every summer for a week with two couples over the past 13 years or so. With vaccinations, we were able to do it again this year and just returned from a magical week. Four of us are grandparents now, and 3 of us were actually toddlers together as our Moms were best friends. Hopefully we can age with some grace in the way this hydrangea exemplifies in my friends' Wellfleet garden.

We have beautiful Hydrangea at our house. This is a blue one but we have pink and white as well. When I can not find an animal to shoot, I'm shooting flowers these days.. Ha ha Still love to shoot.

Hope you and yours are doing good these days. This a getting pretty crazy but life goes on and we just keep trying to go forward,,

hydrangeas - such beautuous blooms.

The Hydrangeas did very well this year, although in general the heads are smaller probably due to the hot summer.

Now some have been dried and form a lovely dash of colour in the room.

Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.

A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.

Flower lovers will know that there is a flower language.

Every sentiment is expressed in one form or another by delicate blooms.

Of course, even the experts disagree on the "true meaning" of many flowers and most have different meanings to different people.

So, while all flowers convey thoughtfulness and love, a gift of flowers for a special someone will always create its own personal meaning, too.

Borde Hill has such a variety of hydrangea bushes that are simply stunning at the moment, well worth the trip for these alone if you are in Sussex.
