One member of the household no longer finds the winter amusing whatsoever. The other member is finding it less so by the year.

The little snail spotted his mother! He hadn't seen her in so long, and he 'rushed' over to give her a big hug - but it wasn't until he got a bit closer (and found himself in the candy dish) that he realised his mistake - Bah! Humbug!
For Macro Mondays theme 'Candy'.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph. At no time was the snail allowed to come into contact with the candy, which would have upset its osmotic balance.

Update 20/5/2016
Im going to specialise in taking bad photos of orange council trucks from here on!!! lol!
Thank you for all your comments and faves!

Ive had these photos up for a year and a half and in spite of all the great advice I prefer the other one. Its to do with the moodiness of it as it looks far more spooky than this one. I think you would have to walk down that road in the half light as I did. There is a grey/blue hue off everything. It shoots up from the road to meet you and the a ghostly light reflects
of the huge boughs, which were wet at the time, and seemed to be reaching out to grab you.I was a bit nervous I dont mind admitting. Then of course the "orange" council truck appeared. I was kind of glad!
With regard to Faves and Views they are practically neck and neck.So that helps a lot!!!!!

Autumn continues to visit the old blacksmith shop in North Bloomfield, even though blacksmith hasn't shown up for years. It's best to put your money on the seasons where reliability is concerned.

Now doesn't Max look happy! Christmas card shot for sure~ This one is dedicated to my good friend Keven (law_keven) Check out his stream Get a tree, Kev....!!
For 100x photos taken with my Nikon Z #93 and also for HSS!
Trying to get a 1 year old to sit in front of the Christmas tree, AND to look at the camera, AND to smile at the same time proved a little too much for Elina, but two out of three isn't bad. HSS! :)

Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park is preserving the largest hydraulic mining site in California, United States. The mine was one of several hydraulic mining sites at the center of the 1882 landmark case Woodruff v. North Bloomfield Mining and Gravel Company.
It's tough being a villain at the holidays, not only does the general public hate you, but apparently you can't get any villainesses to even show up! (Not that everyone made it to the party -- looking at you Qalon -- but, seriously, how did I not notice before now that I don't have any female bad guys?
Looks like we are down to just one now at North hide. Both parents were there, but pretty much ignoring its constant cries for food and no sign of its siblings.
It was a bright old fashioned morning in Humbug. Just like it used to be 150 years ago. Except for the fact that Marg, Kenzie the pup, and I were the only ones there. I used to appreciate the solitude but these days seeing other people is a welcome diversion.
