I had a good overnight stay here. The room was a little small but had everything one would need. Plus, it's been completely renovated recently.
When in Banff I recommend a visit and tour of this iconic "Castle of the Rockies." Amazing inside and out. With the Bow River flowing below and the river's falls just to the right in this frame and Mt. Rundle rising majestically across the valley there is much to admire around it as well.
"The hotel opened in 1888 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, as one of the earliest of Canada's grand railway hotels. The original wooden structure burnt down in 1926, the replacement structure was made up of a steel frame, clad in Rundle limestone.

Lillesand Hotel Norge is a cultural monument in Lillesand. Originally built as a tannery by the Scot Robert Major in 1838, then as several independent buildings which were later built together. These contained a factory, a bark mill for the tanning process, a warehouse, an office and a store.
Around 1870, hotel operations began. Twenty years later, the houses were built together and decorated in a contemporary Swiss style with a large veranda with carvings in neo-Gothic style. It has since been removed, but has been partially restored in 1994.
The author Knut Hamsun often stayed at Hotel Norge in the 1930s, always in the same room.

On Garry Street, in downtown Winnipeg, is the famed Windsor Hotel. Although a very small hotel, but an icon for many years, the Windsor is renowned for it's offering of blues, nothing but the blues, as the sign says.

Sorrisniva Ice Hotel, in the outlying area of Alta, has been rebuilt yearly since 1999. It is Europe’s northernmost ice hotel, as it is in the Finnmark region and is approximately 250 km from North Cape. The 2,000 square meter hotel has 30 rooms, including two suites. It is decorated with ice sculptures and ice furnishings, including lighting systems which enhance the different types of crystalline formations. Besides the bedrooms the hotel contains an ice chapel, ice gallery and ice bar where drinks are served in glasses made of ice. The ice sculptures at the hotel change yearly. To stay warm when sleeping, guests use sleeping bags that sit on top of reindeer hides.

Viele von ihnen weisen Hausinschriften auf, die neben dem Namen des ersten Eigentümers und des Erbauungsjahres oftmals auch einen Spruch enthalten. Das älteste Gebäude in der Altstadt ist die nach dem Brand von 1605 wieder aufgebaute und von den späteren Feuern verschont gebliebene Steinbergsche Mühle in der Mühlenstraße. Das im Jahre 1888 als Logierhaus errichtete Gildehaus und das 1898/99 erbaute Hotel Kronprinz gehören zu den bekanntesten Gebäuden der Stadt.
De avond valt over de Keizerstraat in Deventer met als blikvanger het mooi gerestaureerde Hotel Finch.
