Calends is Latin, the word from which calendar is derived. In turn, Calendula means “throughout the months.”

Lets hope the coming months are so much better than what we are experiencing during the last few months.

"Don't expect me to repeat everything that has already been said this year.

I don't look to the past, I exist for the future!

My name is Hope!

I know ... There are times when you almost lose me, but whenever that happens, we end up together again.

Hope does not exist without you, and you cannot exist without it.

Believe in 2021! Believe!"

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

but I've got high hopes, it takes me back to when we started

high hopes, when you let it go, go out and start again

high hopes, when it all comes to an end

but the world keeps spinning around

and in my dreams, I meet the ghosts

of all the people who have come and gone

memories, they seem to show up so quick

but they leave you far too soon

Another older image that was taken while on a trip to Isreal. This is the church of the Holy Sepulchre where the body of Jesus Christ was taken and placed into a tomb. Today was the Feast of the Three Magi or the Three Kings also known as the Epiphany. I thought this image was a good symbol of light and hope for the new year.

Es gibt berechtigte Hoffnung auf einen Corona Impfstoff in baldiger Zukunft.

Das ist ein echter Lichtblick in diesen dunklen Tagen.

Drücken wir die Daumen!

There is legitimate hope for a Corona vaccine in the near future.

This is a real ray of light in these dark days.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Hoffnung, dass der Wahnsinn bald ein Ende hat...

explored: April 7, 2022 #100

Hoffnung ist das einzige Gut, das allen Menschen gemein ist.

Whilst I was hoping for a good shot of the Gannets on my local headland this Rock Pipit was the star of the show - busy feeding it's young. It was lovely to watch. Food seemed quite abundant.

We watch the sunset, this setting that has no equal and we hope for the best tomorrow.

Captured on that fabulous August bank holiday weekend, weather and light like this seems a distant memory at the moment.

A New Year's Resolution

If you have a dream, go chase it.

If you feel hope, don't waste it.

If you find love, embrace it.

And never take a single breath for granted.

Granted ~Josh Groban

I've been away from Flickr for a while as it's 'that time of year' at work and I also hadn't really used the camera for a while. But the terrible happenings over the last week or so in Ukraine, combined with rising gas and electricity prices, never-ending Winter and the misery of Covid uncertainty still hanging around, made me want to get the camera out and create something nice. Spring flowers always make me feel hopeful, even when the world is in such a mess.

Thinking today of our fellow humans in Ukraine. Utterly heartbreaking that this situation can still occur in 2022.

Don’t take for granted,

just how lucky you are;

To be spending this time with people

who love you.

Complete lockdown, total isolation.

Still this loneliness makes its home,

It burrows deep in my soul,

nothing less than a dull ache.

It’s so easy to lose sight of what matters.

But still, despite all this

I see a flower desperate to be alive.

She blooms unexpectedly,

twirling to reach the sun’s rays.

Showing me that it’s possible.

Reminding me that there’s hope.

Even in the darkest times,

even when it seems like the end,

you can find a way to grow.

Continuing with my Positive Flags of the Nations

project.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present

Bill Keane

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.

John Lennon

When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.

It’s a hard time of year for many people, some will be lonely and the dreary weather can be depressive, so here’s a picture of summer, a time of warmth and feel good to look forward to.

I promise! The flowers are gone, only the green seedheads remain. Hoping for some poppies soon. Long live Spring and Summer!

Hope everyone's keeping well. Many thanks for all the very kind comments, faves and follows. They are very much appreciated.

These are plants that we planted dried to form dried lacy pods. Soon the plants will grow again, and the cycle of hope will continue.

Physalis alkekengi (bladder cherry , Chinese lantern, Japanese-lantern, strawberry groundcherry, or winter cherry ) is a relative of P. peruviana (Cape gooseberry). It is easily identifiable by the large, bright orange to red papery covering over its fruit, which resembles paper lanterns.

~ Wikipedia

You could see the Chinese lanterns we planted three years ago in the first comment.
