Another type of blinds in Dubai are the Venetian blinds. These are also known as Japanese Venetian blinds and are made of high quality materials. The major benefit of purchasing custom-made blinds or Venetian blinds in Dubai is that you can get the design and style that suits your tastes perfectly.

The hall bathroom in our 1983 house needed a little facelift, and while it's still not ideal, it's miles better than it started out!

The basement bathroom is plumbed!

It took 14 years to finish but we did it

Tedious detail work around the shower surround, as usual taking ten times longer than anticipated.

Finished basement: just add guests!

It will be finished some day...

Another pain in the butt. I broke two ceramic / glass bits drilling through the tile and had to cut a notch out of the tub (see note) to get it to fit.

With temperatures climbing well out the negatives, we thought we had weathered the cold. Not so. There was a strange rattling, groan. A loud thunk and then the sound of running water. A water pipe in a disused basement shower had ruptured. I should have turned that valve off years ago.

We've taken out the left-hand support of the doorway. Hope it wasn't structural!

The bathroom on possession day. While slick and giving privacy, that medicine cabinet cut the room in half visually.

Booth inspired by Molly Steenson. Shelf borrowed from The Dakota Smith. Flowers, we grew ourselves. I'm civilized.

separate shower : soon to be more storage

Grandpa came and helped on the third day. We got a lot done but there's probably 2 more day of work left. About half of the remaining sheets can be hung without needing the lift but another rental will be needed at some point.

This room, besides the bathrooms, was the final one to be done. We still have to get some stuff on the walls, and a table or something, but it looks 1000% better. Since the dogs are the ones who spend the most time in here, I hope they like it.

It was starting to stick

How far does one 5 gallon bucket of adhesive get you? This far.

You can't tell from the picture but I also tiled the spaces for the dishwasher and stove. All that is left is the last 2+ rows and the inside of the refrigerator knook.

The $80 Craftsman wet tile saw worked like a champ! I gave it a good workout even with this project so far with a lot more cutting to go. Thank goodness I set up shop in the garage as it's quite messy. I knew to expect some mess but this was a lot.

So assuming we can grab another bucket of adhesive we'll be able to finish laying the tile tomorrow and hopefully grout the floor in the evening.

Like the kitchen, the pantry has two layers of carpet, the bottom one foam-backed and glued to the floor. The trap-door to the basement adds an additional challenge to the project.

The first problem with the closet is that the shelving is very recessed and hard to access. The second half of the closet is taken up by space for closet rod that hadn't been used by us or the previous owners -- indicated by the missing closet rod and nail "hooks" along the back wall. Overall, it is a pretty cramped and poorly designed space.

Took only 4 hours and we were done with the whole thing!

A window blind is typically a kind of window covering usually made of wood or vinyl. There are actually several types of window blinds that use various kinds of control systems. The simplest ones still function by adjusting the tilt of a vertically stretched cord, while more complex ones have more elaborate systems involving sliding movements and positioning of slats on the blind.

After ripping out the carpet pad I found no less than 5 different patterns of linoleum.

The tile cutting and adhering is complete. It ain't totally perfect but it's mine. Next... grouting.

I chose the colour and begged the paint guy at Home Depot to add it to the Behr Venetian Plaster since grey was not one of their standard choices. I love it!

These are the most challenging sheets to hang because the stairs prevented positioning the lift closer. I created a small lip to rest the sheets on using scrap wood so I could slide them in place.

Brian helped me mount new minimalist baseboard. I was surprised how cheap and easy it was to rent a potentially lethal weapon for a day. No fingerprinting or DNA swabs necessary!

Nailgun-related injuries have tripled in the past 15 years, due primarily to the availability of less expensive nailguns. It seemed difficult to be injured by this thing, as long as you treated it like a nailgun.

We used a SkilSaw across the top to open thing up.
