Memories of Tenerife

No, they are not lazy lay about's - just tourist trying to shoot the Kuala Lumpur Twin Tower. It's cool just to watch the lighted pinnacles on a clear day.

I took this shot last week whilst on a street walk with Saripdoll.

About this shot - As you can see, there is a security guy approaching the scene. I had initially thought he was going to disrupt this foursome partying on the plaza, but it was actually me, the guy with the rangefinder that was his target. I don't want to make a scene, so hurriedly walked on.

I was near burn-out, so I took a couple of days off and start building a new pinhole camera. I am building a pinhole camera, this time a stereoscopic one. This is the first set of pieces cut before adjusting and assembly. Of course, as much as possible, out of “bad wood”!

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

“mala madera”!

Shot along the high street of Kulim old town - Jalan Raya. There is a story behind this Mini.

I meet the owner's father who is the Royal Mechanic for the Sultan of Kedah. He is an expert in Mini repairs and restoration.....at that time I was just back from my studies in the UK. It was the early 90's. He took me to his home to show a mint Mini Cooper S(Austin Mini). I wanted to restore an old mini I was contemplating to buy, but he declined due to his old age and health - reason being, he is not fit to lift engines anymore. Yes, he did lift engines out with his brute strength. I was quite disappointed of course. He brought me to his son's Mini (short nose - this particular one) and told me that his son was not interested in cars.....his son had a shop unit at the high street. And he still owns a business there. As you can see the car is still in original condition.
