Hier ist das Hochwasser nicht ganz so geglättet, da der HiRes Modus nur eine Belichtung von 1 Sekunde zulässt. Dafür ist der Dom deutlich schärfer und Detailreicher als in der Version zuvor.
A few days ago I commented on a stunning B&W portrait, on a contacts stream (Charlotte) and mentioned that one of the weddings I had done was entirely in mono, she said she would like to see a mono wedding image, so I thought why not. I didn't want to show any faces so ended up with this image. The formal images of the bride and groom were finished in the garden of the hotel and we were heading back to the reception, i grabbed this candid shot, the ones I like the most !!

As a freelancer I can relate to this image, the struggle to make living using antiquated equipment, the long hours and stressful delays.
I made the image in taxi on the way back from a meeting with a potential client on the banks of the Cairo Nile, we were stuck in the mother of all traffic jams, the driver was tired and stressed, I was, for once content as I had eaten fish and concluded what I thought was a successful meeting. Now I look back, the real success was this image, which is one of my favourites.

Outside of Washington DC's Union Station you can always see long lines of taxis waiting for fares. Back in my college days, I drove a taxi so I can understand how hard these cabbies work. They put in very long hours doing what can sometimes be a dangerous and thankless job. The next time you ride in a taxi, please tip your driver generously. They really deserve it!

Car hired from Monte Carlo Rent a Car. 208 Mazda 3, 1600cc, automatic. Car cost £420 for 14 days - including full comprehensive insurance. We picked up car in Amman but as driving very difficult in Amman we were first driven to the outskirts of Amman and carried on from there. Emails with company were always prompt and courteous. Was a good car to drive - especially up some very steep hills! We dropped off car at Amman airport on leaving Jordan after driving 1703 Kms (1058 miles). Would recommend Monte Carlo as a good hire car company.

An eastbound BNSF freight led by an Oakway SD60 with a very faded nose logo rolls through Hinsdale in 2005. A pair of former Santa Fe EMDs help the leased 9010 on a typically overcast winter day in Chicagoland.
The 9010 is now Canadian National 5453.

I don't know what they're teaching the new conductors down in McDonough, but the new hires for a little bit were calling signals weird, like the trainee was doing here at Sewell & other control points.
Anyways, the Annual Meeting of the East End Squatters Club (iykyk; thanks Kyle) occured here because for 2022 standards, this was a good one, especially for us east of the Mississippi. NS 153 is seen east of Bremen, GA with a pair H1 paint Dash 9's on the point. There were a number of these making their way through the southeast in the spring of 2022 after a number were brought out of storage by BNSF earlier in the year, with many going to NS to pay off horsepower-hour debts, including this paired duo. Upon hearing that the duo got put on the point of 153, this naturally caused a stir with the Atlanta & Birmingham railfans & lead to a number of them coming out on this Saturday to document their trip down the East End. 5-7-22
