Scotland is truly such a beautiful place. I would highly recommend going!

Somewhere near Pitlochry. We came across this lovely place on the way to Castle Menzies.

The highlands in eastern Kyrgyzstan leading to the Tien Shan mountain range are a vast almost uninhabited region bordering to China.

In the next three weeks I am only sporadically online, because I moving to another apartment.

Have a good time and stay healthy : )

Es ist etwas ganz besonderes Erlebnis einen Frühlingstag im schottischen Hochland zu verbringen.

There is something very special experience to spend a spring day in the Scottish Highlands.

“There’s no place on earth with more of the old superstitions and magic mixed into its daily life than the Scottish Highlands.” ~ Diana Gabaldon

So this week marks the beginning of fall. Today it is 82 degrees here in Fort Lauderdale..a little cooler that it has been. It is in the 60"s in Highlands, N.C. where this was taken..and it is raining..hopefully replenishing the waterfalls. Headed up that way soon and hoping for some great fall color. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

my wonderful holiday in Scotland

MERRY CHISTMAS TO ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS IN FLICKR

Driving through the snow-capped mountains of Scotland, when I had to heave over to one side to capture this.

We had some time on our hands and took a back road up and out of Fort William on the Old Military road. And as we went over the brow, Fort William and the top of Loch Linnhe behind us, the world changed into this. We never found out how far the little road that became narrower and bumpier went, but it became more and more beautiful. I think this was Lochan Lunn da-Bhra and the remote white country house, Lundavra. If we had been on foot we might have got through the mountains to Kinlochleven. I might save that for my next life. For now, I would be happy to just sit on that hillock, like that lone sheep, (left of centre) and enjoy the tranquility and view

Fjallabak (Icelandic Highlands) 20210717

Shaped by the antagonism of ice and fire, the South Highlands of Fjallabak offer landscapes like no other. Nature, here in delirium, combines harmoniously contradictory landscapes with the art of paradox. Green meadows, lava fields, pristine glaciers, black sand beaches, blue iceberg lagoons, basalt fortresses, crystalline waterfalls, powerful rivers, volcanoes pretending to sleep, flooded bogs, fumaroles in the shape of rainbows flood succeed and renew endlessly. While the ocean in front of so many wonders is not left out and spreads its power and its immensity, launching its rolls and its millions of pelagic birds to conquer this land that was supposed to stay at the bottom of the abyss.

A photo taken during a late evening walk in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Alot of people stop on the corner between Glenuig and Roshven. On a clear, sunny day it is a fantastic viewpoint either out to the small Isles of Muck, Eigg and Rum or inland up Loch Ailort with the mountains on either side. Too often the view is stunning but I can't decide whether to stop and take a picture. It's easy to say it will look this gorgeous any other day and drive on by. Today, with a bit of extra wind I just had to have a go at a panoramic shot (4 images)

We were lucky enough to have been offered a free upgrade on our rental car while we were in the UK last fall. The Audi A4 35 TDI is an amazing car!

A stormy day in the Highlands of Scotland, the mist and clouds swirling round the mountains.

This image, photographed in the Icelandic highlands, is one of the favourites from my trip. Perhaps surprisingly, I made the image with my iPhone.

After an amazing 8 day run of clear, sunny blue skies and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, a storm was inevitable. And here it was.

Creag nan Gabhar translates as Rocky Hill of the Goat and stands at 834 meters. Not high enough to be a Munro but it is a Corbett.
