-# 00 to 06. This is one of several images of my walk to the Tipo Hightech ECO Park on SBFZ on the 11th of Jan. 2023. They predict, show my GPS track, maps and other data of this walk. This presentation has only 42 images from the collection of 52 images I have in my file.
Twin steel masts running vertically from ground anchorage up to roof support lattice. Using an external roof hanger allows the exhibition halls to be column-free. Also the white-finished exoskeleton has a nautical allusion suitable for the dockside location. ExCeL exhibition centre, London Borough of Newham.

Coming back Downshire Hill, at 49A, near Keates Grove, we’re at Michael Hopkins’ own so-discrete, glass-box, high-tech home from the 1970s. Prescient, lasting crisp. It shows how careful consideration can fit in modern-of-its-time without conflict. A short metal bridge provides direct access from the footpath to the same-level first-floor — the ground floor is set below street level with the natural step in ground. A very light immaculately-detailed structure sets to 12 ft cc columns. It appears partly influenced by Charles Eames’ Pacific Palisades house, spatially and technically, along with other early high-tech houses such as those by Rogers and Foster, of the time.
Altogether quiet, and light elegance.
