The National Center for Atmospheric Research's Gulfstream V is also known as the High-performance Instrumented Airborne Platform for Environmental Research (HIAPER). It is flown with equipment to study weather, air quality, and climate.

At first they didn't like how the speaker system sounded but after the acoustical treatment was applied, the sound system burst alive as does everything as promised.

When this gym is configured like this, the room still sounds like a gym, but you can understand each other from one end of the room to the other. The down side to this is that when the teams huddle, you can hear what the other side is saying. Careful boy!!

After 10 weeks I ask the soundman what he noticed in the worship. He said he noticed the congregational singing improving by the second Sunday and the congregational singing is getting better and better all the time. At times he let the congregation drown out the praise and worship team.

This raises an interesting question. If the congregational is having such a great time singing and they can drown out the praise and worship team, do they still need the worship team and does this mean you can bring back the choir? Better yet, isn't it time to have both!

You are invited to stay and browse through my photostream. Here's a quick index to my Flickr site:

Automobile Photographs: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)

Central Illinois (except Springfield): Central Illinois (except Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I've photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "counrtyside") photographs are grouped by county.

Springfield, Illinois: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds (and past State Fairs), and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Also in the Lincoln "All About Abe" (Set) are a few Lincoln sites not located in Springfield.

Beyond Central Illinois: Other locales in the United States and Canada including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.

In addition to my location-based sets, here are links to some "topical" collections and sets I've put together:

Barbers & Barber Shops: Traditional barbers and barber shops are on the endangered species list. But there are still plenty to be found if you go looking for them.

Almost Everything Else. Check It Out!!!: Included topics range from man's first walk on the moon to small town schools and churches, and from Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers (our favorite breed) to things that are abandoned, neglected, weathered, or rusty.

This mainsail is hoisted a little high - and if you are rigging a BETH there are better pics and good instructions on setting up lug rigs now.

You can get almost modern level performance - but with only a fraction of the cost of a regular racing boat.

Why ... BETH has 4 pulleys and some spectra where your current boat has about 30 pulleys and funny single purpose fittings.

Performance boats don't need to be expensive.

design inspired by Ford's classic GT40 race cars of the 1960s

The SPEED version of the Mulsanne. Literally insane. Over 800lb-ft of torque, ridiculous acceleration even though it weighs as much as a cargo ship! Can I have one?

Saw this sweet shiny Ferarri next to the ocean at Laguna Beach in CA. 3rd Ferarri I saw that day.

The Pro Longboard combines a Full Performance, Thruster Set-Up with Sunova’s Composite Construction Technology to create a board so free and loose, no one can believe a longboard can be surfed so radically:

— The widest point has been pulled back on the plan shape to give it that ‘surfable’ feel.

— The hip has been moved forward with a tight, pulled-in tail giving plenty of curve which allows the board to go vertical easier and earlier.

— The bottom edge makes a clean transition from soft at forward of centre, through to hard in the tail which helps hold the face during trim.

— The nose rail has a tighter radius on the bottom edge, creating a boxier front rail that prevents water wrapping too early on the deck.

The Pro Longboard is the ultimate performance longboard attaining that delicate balance between competitive edge and longboarding tradition.
