As promised, here is the other shot taken at the same time as my last upload. This one is looking east, the other is looking north.

I wanted to upload this for Friday Flora, but Flickr had hiccups this Friday, so I decided to give the sliders a more intense go and process it to the max for Sliders Sunday ;-)
Taken in a street around my corner; I liked the pose of this lovely rose, kind of elated, a little fancy, and elegant like a dancer. At F/2.8 the background was rather distracting, so I isolated the rose, and slightly desaturated and blurred the backdrop. I've also added a texture to it in Analog Efex, one of the "dirt & scratches" presets. The rose was processed in HDR Efex, and as final touches I added a bokeh filter in ON1 (low opacity), and increased the warmth of the shadows and tweaked the HSL sliders for green, red, and magenta in LR.

Diese Rose war eigentlich für Freitagsblümchen gedacht, aber da Flickr diesen Freitag ja erheblichen Schluckauf hatte, habe ich das Foto etwas intensiver für den Sliders Sunday bearbeitet.
Aufgenommen in einer Straße bei mir fast um die Ecke. Ich fand die Pose der Rose so hübsch, keck, ein wenig exaltiert und so elegant wie eine Tänzerin. Da ich den Hintergrund (Blende F/2.8) ein wenig zu vorlaut fand, habe ich in PS die Rose freigestellt, den Hintergrund dezent entsättigt, leicht weichgezeichnet und ihn in Analog Efex mit einem "Schmutz-und-Kratzer"-Filter versehen. Die Rose selbst habe ich in HDR Efex bearbeitet, anschließend für das gesamte Bild in ON1 einen Bokehfilter angewendet (mit geringer Deckkraft) und als Abschluss in LR die Wärme der Schatten verstärkt und die HSL-Regler für Grün, Rot und Magenta angepasst.

One of my first photos with my new camera!! Well, I've had a few hiccups, but I suppose it would help if I read the manual!! So far, just playing around. This was taken on my way to a sunset shoot yesterday. Wow, those reflections really caught my eye!!

It is a HDR work from 3 different exposured shots.
Layered together with 8 different HDR turned versions and one BW turned with Nik´s silver efex.
I am out in the field, looking for the magic donkey.

Well, it's been a month now since I haven't received any notifications from flickr on my iPhone iPad or Laptop. It seems my flickr account has finally broken and I can't tell whats going on without constantly monitoring my stream. It's awfully lonely out here without the random chirps it get from my phone letting me know people are looking. This really blows!!!! I'm trying to be patient but I don't know how much longer I can deal with the hiccups at Flickr Headquarters.

I’m back in the swing of things now after my slight Flickr hiccup, and what better way to prove that than showing this amazing new glittery jumper and skirt set from Atomic that you can get now at N21? None, I think, as it’s a totally delicious outfit and looks great with the new Ginger hair from Truth (Ginger as in the name of the hair, not the colour, though I’m using the ginger option!). Finally the new Uber event sees the new Cora applier from Izzie’s which is utterly lovely with a number of cute makeup, freckle, mole etc. options. Enjoy!

Spring is here! The appearance of flocks of Amerfican Robins makes it semi-official. For years, they arrived in the middle of February to take advantage of the hundred of so Toyon trees with ripened berries. Then, in 2019, they didn't come nor did the companion flock of Cedar Waxwings down from the Pacific Northwest for the same reason.
Yesterday, I counted more than 30 in one alder tree. I immediately went the half-mile to the toyons, and there they were flying from one side of the street to get a single berry, to the other side to eat it. The waxwings were doing the same thing.
It's well known here that the Robins and Waxwings both will stay until the berries ripen to the point where each becomes alcoholic, and then drivers who have been here for a few years know to slow down (one town, Orinda, even has "Watch For Drunk Birds" signs) as birds literally meander down the roads, inhebriated to the point where they cannot fly or walk.
And you want the pictures. Well, I don't have any of the tipsy ones, and getting a bird on snatch and fly missions IN the very leafy toyon trees is difficult at best. In six years, I've managed a dozen decent images out of literally hundreds of tries.
Mark this day on your calendars if you're in the East Bay. March 16, the return of the Robin and spring. By the way, I have yet to hear one sing so, this is not mating season. This is the season of food and drink and hiccupping birds staggering on city streets. Let the festivities begin!
One of the wine cellars at Wollersheim winery in southern Wisconsin. The winery begun in the 1840's,has been an integral part of the area,beautifully laid out on the bluffs overlooking the Wisconsin river. As for the missing barrel on the right, it was delicious!

DJ set had a few hiccups and was very nervous but everyone was so supportive and kind and had over 25+ people that attended to support, so blown away especially considering only 2nd time I've ever DJed. Thank you to everyone who came out to support.

I used some baking soda for snow and got to try out a new mister for the photography, so that was fun! Having all the dark grey pieces run off with by my brother... not so much.
Flickr, you amaze me.
the hiccups continue - problems are so wide range. It seems to me that the smug mug servers are crap. People say have you changed your settings and your browser. Why should I have to make changes? This should run on whatever. Now pictures won't show in my contacts stream. Or mine for that matter. Cannot change an icon on a home page. Slow commenting and sometimes not at all. Bad Panda crashes. Perhaps they need more money from us. Like we are 4 months in and really???
And after all this typing still no picture above, like the one I just uploaded. Can't look at yours because they do not appear either ......yet!
Sometimes small things can look so frickin' real. An older shot sitting in my queue I thought I would get some of my old shots out there.

TIdda gastrointestinal update:
Monday was a terrible day for Tidda with 10+ urgent trips outside, nausea, eating a ton of grass and vomiting it up later. She clearly felt very unwell.
So I withheld all food once more for 24 hours. Then, I tried a few tablespoons of plain canned pumpkin with a little rice and later rice and chicken. And she soon got better! I had also stopped the probiotics. In retrospect, it really seemed to me like it was the probiotics that had actually triggered the rapid escalation of things.
Since yesterday, she's been getting better pretty quickly, loving the boiled chicken, and today we had the long awaited vet visit. Both the vet tech and the vet were really wonderful and took a lot of time and it was a great informative visit! The vet was very sensitive with Tidda, who was a bit trembly at first. After a while, she was lying down and looking bored!
The vet thought it sounded most like a digestive tolerance issue since it did appear to be "diet responsive," so the first step should be the least invasive, which is just seeing if a different food will resolve the issue. So she is now on a special GI food (not cheap!) and seems to like it actually, together with her chicken and rice.
I raised the topic of homemade food and to my surprise the vet was open to it and even printed out some information and maybe I'll experiment a little in that direction later, once Tidda is solid and stable again.
As you see in this picture taken a few weeks ago, she had gotten a bit chubby (but in a cute way!). When she was found as a stray last summer, she weighed 45 pounds and looked emaciated. Today, after definitely losing weight through her illness, she weighed 54 pounds. I was shocked! She has been making up for lost time and I was feeding her a little too much!
There will probably be some more hiccups on the road to finding the right diet for her, but for the moment she is on the mend and I feel very positive and hopeful that I can manage it!

Happy to say that I'm finally back after what feels like an eternity! My move went well with only a couple hiccups along the way, like lack of internet access for a while, but everything finally seems to be falling into place. I'm really enjoying the change of scenery at my new place and having so much fun whenever I get the chance to get out and shoot....not sure what I was so worried about.
I've missed you all dearly and can't wait to catch up with what you all have been up to! :-)
Canadian Pacific's ballast train rushes towards Portage as they enter the Reeseville Marsh basin outside of Richwood. In a couple miles, the lead units PTC would have a hiccup and bring the eighty five car train to a halt, threatening to snarl the plans of the dispatcher. After some calls, computer resetting and optimism, the situation was rectified and the CP was running like a well oiled machine once again..
