The beloved, 114 yr old landmark pier in White Rock, BC Canada was severely damaged by a windstorm that ripped through Metro Vancouver, BC Canada on December 20th, 2018

The White Rock Pier is a historic landmark dating back to the 1920's and one of White Rock's finest tourist attractions boasting over 1,540 feet of boardwalk.

In this scene, you will notice some of the remains of many destroyed sailboats.

During the storm the boats were ripped away from an attached dock, at the end of the pier, and were aggressively tossed around, beaten and smashed to pieces, by the high force winds and rough waves.

During the summertime in Alaska, we pretty much get used to sharing the roads with monstrous construction equipment. This big fella dwarfed our one-ton truck. I'd love to see the world from the driver's seat in that beauty - although I think I'd need a big ladder to get up to driver's side door.

De koploper - The frontrunner. For me, the best train; it looks great and has the best seats, compared to the modern ones. It's unfortunately being scrapped, hence this photo. Before it's no longer possible.

As a kid I played in the dirt with toy trucks so how could I pass this going on? Man, they moved a lotta dirt!

Made using a 590nm filter and a small converted camera, using Photoshop for most post-processing. The original photo was mostly a sandy brown monotone, so this image aimed at enhancing color and sharpness. Hand-held with a multi-burst combination of images.

This is actually a construction site, which to some, could be considered a destruction site. Taken with the Zero Image 2000 pinhole on Kodak Tri-X 400 developed and scanned by The Darkroom and edited in Photomator.

At The Photo Forum, there are two timed theme threads generally happening. One is called a weekly challenge and photos need to be shot during that weekly time frame for that theme. This week's theme is triangles.

Then there is a black and white themed thread which over the summer has expanded its time frame from biweekly to monthly. This four week's theme is what the moderator has called trompe l'œil.

My understanding of trompe l'œil had been 'tricks the eye' but the moderator has expanded that to include 'catches the eye.'

I think this image works for both those themed threads.

I hope everyone is doing well.
