A giant crane reaching for the sky in Downtown Providence, Rhode Island on a beautiful summer evening.
At 0709 hrs, the belly of the beast at Atlas Steel erupts in a fiery glow - a stark contrast to the cool blue atmosphere of surrounding Welland, Ontario.

The beloved, 114 yr old landmark pier in White Rock, BC Canada was severely damaged by a windstorm that ripped through Metro Vancouver, BC Canada on December 20th, 2018
The White Rock Pier is a historic landmark dating back to the 1920's and one of White Rock's finest tourist attractions boasting over 1,540 feet of boardwalk.
In this scene, you will notice some of the remains of many destroyed sailboats.
During the storm the boats were ripped away from an attached dock, at the end of the pier, and were aggressively tossed around, beaten and smashed to pieces, by the high force winds and rough waves.

They are doing some work in our neighborhood and this big old crane just called out for a photo or two.
During the summertime in Alaska, we pretty much get used to sharing the roads with monstrous construction equipment. This big fella dwarfed our one-ton truck. I'd love to see the world from the driver's seat in that beauty - although I think I'd need a big ladder to get up to driver's side door.

De koploper - The frontrunner. For me, the best train; it looks great and has the best seats, compared to the modern ones. It's unfortunately being scrapped, hence this photo. Before it's no longer possible.
Hopefully this was taken late enough last Saturday to qualify for this week's #SmileOnSaturday?
Anyway, my first fumbling attempt at a composite image with Photoshop.
As a kid I played in the dirt with toy trucks so how could I pass this going on? Man, they moved a lotta dirt!

Made using a 590nm filter and a small converted camera, using Photoshop for most post-processing. The original photo was mostly a sandy brown monotone, so this image aimed at enhancing color and sharpness. Hand-held with a multi-burst combination of images.
I've been driving by these monster excavators near Sundre, Alberta on an almost daily basis for some time now....and all that time, I've been thinking that I'll get some shots of them one of these days. Well yesterday was that day.

Genesis 3:8 “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”
